2022 e-Pro 20FBS: How to access bathroom with slide in

There are times when you need to access the bathroom without extending the slide.

As I was unable to find a safe way to remove the armrest without damaging the couch, I decided to replace the bathroom door with a bi-fold door instead. I used the following door from Lowes:
JELD-WEN 6 Panel Pine 24-in x 80-in Unfinished 6-panel Solid Core Unfinished Pine Wood Bifold Door Hardware Included. Item #364371, Model #364371

I trimmed the door width and height to match the original door and stained it to match the color (which took some trial and error). I was able to reuse the hinges from the old door, but since the new door panels were not as thick as the original door, I could not use the original handle set. I found the following item to work well instead. RELIABILT Satin Nickel Adjustable Ball Catch. Item #308683. Model #20482TNXLG. The addition of inexpensive door handles to closely match the rest of the trailer handles completed the door hardware.

Finally, I plunge cut a channel in the top of the door to insert a steel mending plate so as to make the door work as a solid door instead of a bifold when needed. This makes it easy to attach a spice rack on the door using Command Plastic Wall Hooks. When the slide is not extended, I simply remove the mending plate to be able to access the bathroom.

Total cost for the upgrade was about $150. Labor if you hire someone to do this would be extra.

Clever. I don't think I would fit through that already narrow doorway with a folding door in place though. I have to be careful of dry goods bin sizes to carry through that doorway, some don't fit. (I use bathtub to store the bins). Luckily I have no slides.

Yes. That works too, but I was advised when I purchased our ePro that only extending partially could result in a jam. Decided to err on the side of caution.
Also, some people might remove their batteries when winterizing. Without the batteries, you can't move the side.

Based on reading the information on our Schwentec slide system, the slide should be fully closed or fully open. Partially opening or closing can result in having to resynchronize the system. One has to access the slide controller to do this. Otherwise, this may cause the slide to not extend or retract equally on both ends.

How to remove armrest:

First, remove the cupholder by prying it up.
You will see two screws not far down on the back.
There is a third screw at the bottom, going down. You'll need a very long screwdriver or someone with very small hands for this one.
Hope this helps someone!
