21 Fbrs fresh water tank supports bent

As I was draining my tank after sanitizing it, I noticed that my tank supports were bent. Actually the rear support is bowed and the front support is kinked. I fill the tank at campgrounds and drive less that 1/4 mile to my campsites. I never leave more than 5 or 6 gallons in the tank as I'm driving. Not too happy about this, but you should check yours.

The mounting of the tank is pathetic. A couple of pieces of lightweight angle iron with two even more flimsy cross supports. I had noticed that the tank bulged between the cross supports when it was filled. Makes me wonder if their designers finished high school. I suspect it won't be long before we hear about someone dropping their tank on the highway.

I suppose I'll fix it myself rather than deal with warranty issues and probably waiting all summer, but it sure makes me mad. This is really inexcusable. Anyway, if you own one of these check your tank. You don't want to be the person who drops it on the highway.

Thanks Gear. My brackets bent in just about the same way as yours. I'll either fix mine myself or take the unit to a local body shop that does excellent work. Looks like your fix did not require removal of the tank. I'll give the reinforcement approach a shot before I take it to the body shop for a complete rework. Thanks again.
