29RKWS fridge access with slide in

We are looking at this model and one of the items on our list is access to the fridge while traveling. Is it possible to get in the fridge with the slide in? Thanks!

Nope. The slide needs to go out about 2'. When closed, it goes right up to the galley counter.

Looking at it another way.....

We had the same thing on our list but ultimately bought a floorplan (8529IKBS) with the same restricted refrigerator access. With the push of a button, the slide is out far enough in seconds to access to lower doors of our four door refrigerator. In two years it hasn't been a problem or an issue. The top doors (freezer) are accessible with the slide in so we'll often put a couple bottles of water in the freezer and we can have nice cold drinks whenever we want during our trips.

My point being... don't let refrigerator access (with the slide in) be the deciding factor of a floorplan you like.

just a tidbit but you won't be accessing the refrigerator when traveling. you'll at least have to stop to get into the trailer!

we have the same issue. and it is not just the refrigerator. we can't get to any of the kitchen drawers or cupboards when the slide is in. where we notice it is not while travelling but when we are loading / unloading. we are in a storage facility and we have learned that we have to position the trailer just right in our space to allow us to extend the slides without hitting the trailers on either side of us while we load / unload.

is it an issue? yes. is it a showstopper? no.

If you otherwise like the floorplan, there is plenty of room for coolers that should cover all needs for the travel day.

We looked at it tonight. It is 30 amp and only has a 13500 AC. Not sure how well that will work with an RV that big.

Likely OK in more northern states but probably not good in FL, TX, AZ, etc....

0Ours only has a 13.5. In 100º+ weather, it does not cool down instantly. Does get things to tolerable rather quickly. We try to head higher to avoid such temps.

Have a question plug my frig in about 5 hrs ago and it still isnt that cold. The outside of it was in direct sun light .Can that be part of the problem. The condenser is warm. Also it was on a 15 amp breaker so i switch it to a 30 amp will that make a difference

You will definitely want 50 amps for two AC's. We looked at a 29RKWS we really liked at a good price but it only had 30 amps. We kept looking until we found a 50 amp tt in this floorplan and wound up with the 29RKWS's cousin, the 2902WS.
