Batteries

Hi, new to the forum. We have ordered a V-Lite 26WRB. It won't be ready until June and we have a long drive to pick it up. But the price is worth the road trip. My question is batteries for the V-Lite. I see they come with one battery in front of the nose. Has anyone added a second battery? If so where did you mount it? I was thinking of making up an angle iron bracket to mount the second battery on top of the original.
Happy Trails to all..

Thank you and thanks for the info, Wiscampsin. Looks like side by side will work just fine.

I put my second battery inside the v- right in front of the dual gas tanks, in a battery box. The bottom of this area is open to the air, so I feel it is sufficiently vented. The batteries they come with are Interstate group 24 deep cycle RV batteries, and they have a 405 cca rating, not too good. Mine lasted about one day apiece before going dead. I just upgraded to a group 27 Interstate, which has a 750 cca rating- much better. But it won't fit in the V, so I only got one, and upgraded the battery box on the tongue to a bigger group 24-31 box. I camp with no power very rarely, and always in the winter months in Fla. Randy

Thanks for the reply. When we get home I'm going to look into putting the second battery there.

Mine has 2 20 lb gas tanks, I believe yours will have 2 30 lb tanks. It should still fit, though. Group 24 battery and box. You will have accomplished your first MOD! I have done over 20 to my V lite! Happy Camping, Randy
