Bedbroom Vent Replacement

I would like to replace our current bedroom vent with a power exhaust fan. I have read several articles at how much difference it will provide in lieu of just opening the vent. One article stated that some mfg's may prewire the vent area without actually putting in the power fan. Does anyone know if the Flagstaff Micro Lite 25 FBLS is prewired? If not, has anyone had any luck fishing power back to that opening?

I can't believe I haven't had a single response to this thread. Does anyone know how I could send this directly to Forest River?

The prewire is usually for an additional air conditioner in the bedroom. When that is the case the power is "prewired" in the ceiling. The wire for the thermostat is "prewired" in the wall. The thermostat location is MARKED on the wall for access to the wire. If it is prewired for a fan, I would imagine it would be marked also. As it is for a TV.

The fans run on 12 VDC. So you do not have a readily available source of DC. You could run 12 VDC to the thermostat location. If you have the prewire. And wire in a switch and or fuse to feed the fan. Just check the gauge of the wire if sufficient for powering the fan.

I googled:
Forest River Flagstaff Customer Service and got this. Voila!

I was wondering the same thing with our motorhome.
You can remove the plastic frame around the vent….it’s just trim.
This will allow you to see in between the ceiling inside and the roof of your rig.
I found some 12 volt wires running right beside the vent opening.
I’ll order the exhaust fan when we get back from our trip starting this weekend.

The easiest way to get an answer to your question is to drop the fascia of your roof vent and see if there is wiring up there.
