Brand new FR Flagstaff V-Lite Leaking
We bought a new-from-factory (made to order) TT, picked it up two weeks ago, had it at the house last week to stock, then have had it in storage. We brought it home again today to finish stocking it for our first camping experience and, when we ran out the back slide of the bedroom, there was water on the end of the bed and in surrounding areas, including the vanity counter, dropped down the bedroom drawers, and on the carpet. There is even a bit under the pantry 4-5 feet away. While we did have bad storms in Atlanta, we wouldn't have thought it would come in. We have tried to figure out how it came in, but there is no evidence of water on the slide top (even when run in) any vent, around the window, etc. so we are at a loss.
We are talking to the dealership and they are also befuddled. They want us to drive it across Atlanta to look at it, so we're trying to make those arrangements to get it there, but are hoping some of you experienced folks may have some insight. Thanks in advance. Kelley

We thought we had a water leak on our the first time we took out as we found water around the bed and in the slide out area of the widows. Took back to dealer and they could not find any leaks after testing and also leaving out in rain. We discovered that the camper was getting excessive moisture due to high humidity and cooler air and taking showers. We bought damp rid and it has solved our problem with the moisture. You would be surprised at the amount of water that it collect's. We no longer have the issues with the moisture. You may also want to invest in a dehumidifier. Hope this helps. BTW welcome to the V-nose group. Later RJD

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. By chance did you have the slide out int he bedroom open while it was raining? If so the water may have come in when you retracted the slide.

Thank you for your response. We didn't have the slide open when it rained. When we got the heavy storms here in ATL this week, it was all closed up and in storage.

Thanks for the response and for the welcome to the V-nose group (didn't know there was such a thing, but glad to be a part of it. :-) ). Our problems sound similar. Did you have the leak before you even used it or was it during your first trip you notice it? We have never taken it out -- just had it at the house a few days to put bedding etc in there. This evening we did put some damp-rid in there to try to dry it out. But at the suggestion of the dealership, we are going to try to help replicate the problem with spraying hoses etc this weekend. Hopefully we can pinpoint any issues before our "maiden voyage" next weekend.

We had our V-light for about two days before we took off camping. The weather was very humid and light drizzle and mild rain most of the time. Lot of moisture but as you, we thought it was water leakage. Hope that yours is just a lot of condensation within the camper and not water leaks. Good luck on your test and keep us informed. When you got it, does it have max air 2 vent covers on the vents in those areas and maybe slide covers on the slides? Just a thought.

No problem with these covers also the slide covers are there to help keep debris off slides. One nice thing is that this camper comes with the slide covers where other tt do not. Later RJD

Must be a Time Change in the South because the Factory, and all the NEW units at the Dealers here come in with "Fanmate" vent covers with the Molded tabs in the Flange! The Airxcel factory gave me "Fanmate" covers at Goshen last year! Our unit already has "Maxxair II" covers! It would really surprise me if they are going Back to "MaxxairII" covers! Youroo!!

]Our 2017 Roo 23WS built the beginning of April 2016 has Maxxair fans and covers, as does this 2018 Flagstaff Super Lite classic 832FLBS.
I do believe when I first started looking at the Rockwoods, the 2015 models may have had the Fanmates.

Did you fill your fresh water tank? If so perhaps there is a Leak around the fill spout. This assumption is based upon tank location which is at the rear of my V-Lite 30WFKSS.

After a hard rain, I found water all over the bathroom floor. It had been coming through the Maxx Air cover which I had left open. I closed it and left closed during rain. Solved the problem.

I am on this! Do you mean "left the Lid Open" instead of the "Cover"? Having MaxxAir Covers makes it very hard for rain to enter even with the lids open! Youroo!!

Youroo, You are right, it was the lid fan cover I left open, not the Max Air cover.
But still, it is only time that I have had this problem with water going through a Max Air cover. It was a hard driving rain with 30-40 mph winds. Now when stored at home, I leave the lid fan cover closed.
