Turn off water pump if it is on.
Disconnect city water and open faucet until water stops running
Close faucet and turn on water pump
let water run for a minute or two
shut off water
When pump stops turn it off
turn city water back on and you should be OK. This reseats the check valve.

^^^^^^This AND
Don't turn on your water pump while hooked to city water. One or the other, never both.
If City water pressure is less than pump set pressure it will run while hooked to city water. Apparently this caused the check valve to not seat properly on mine and tank overflowed.
There is a check valve assembly you can purchase that will screw on the suction side of the pump, between filter and pump body if you really want to make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is for the $5 check valve. Valterra has a brass one for $11
