Dometic 300 vs. new Dometic 320 ?

The dreaded Dometic toilet model 300 leak & smell. In 2019 Dometic replaced my model 300 w/ another 300 telling me the leakage problem has been addressed & fixed. Well now again 2024 the leak & smell as returned. A call to Dometic today they tell me since it as been years after replacement there is nothing they will do. I watched U-Tube video's on sealing the 300 inner leaking gaskets w/silicone. Question ?? Do I seal the model 300 as seen on U-Tube OR replace it w/ the Dometic 320 that has porcelain elongated bowl & plastic base.

Of the probably 12-15 Model 300 reseal posts I've seen across various forums, I only recall 1-2 that worked and stuck.

If you replace it with a 320, make sure you have clearance as the 320 is different in dimensions. (and the 310 is slightly different too) Those dimensions are on Dometic's web page in the manual for the 300 series toilets.

The 310 is a little less deep than the 320. It just barely fit in my trailer, the 320 wouldn't fit at all. We put the 320 I ordered in my friend's 2109S, fits great in that trailer!

Well 3 days later problem solved. Replace mod. 300 W/ mod.302 ceramic elongated bowl. After viewing several U Tube vids. disassembling, cleaning, & resealing w/ silicone, we felt better just replacing it.
