NO! You only bypass the water heater when you winterize.
Never seen a setting for dry camping, on any RV.

I don’t know how long they have had this set up, it is one thing that I like on my SOB over my Wildcat. I still miss my Wildcat it spent two day in the shop over 4 years and it was my fault. My new trl is going on two months

???? Dry camping with water ???
I am guessing they mean camping with cold water only?
Or do they mean camping with water in the fresh tank but no city hookup?
We need more information.

Haven't seen the Dry camping setting, but my guess would be that it sets the system to pull from the fresh water tank. If you don't need heated water, don't bypass the water heater...just don't turn the hot water heater on. What year and model of rv do you have?

Can you please post a pic of your water/plumbing station panel. Forest River uses several of the Nautilus brand ones (and others) like in this pic below. It would help us tremendously in tailoring the advice. Thanks

Dry camping means running off your water tank.
I rarely use hot water heater. Mostly just heat water on the stove.

Isn''t this something you can solve yourself?
Why don't you turn on the hot water faucet after the water heater has run a while and see if hot water comes out? I'd suspect what the notice means though is that you're not hooked up to city water and drawing from your fresh water tank,

No. The "fill fresh water tank", "dry camping", "city water" valve has nothing to do with bypassing the water heater.

I do not have this on my camper. However, my parents have a setting like this. I believe that the dry camping setting is to pump from an external tank to the on-board fresh water tank. My parents camper does not have a gravity feed fill for the tank...only a pump.

Yes on my dry camping it is just turning a valve I still have hot water. Water pressure comes from pumping out of freshwater tank.

No.
In the dry camping valve position(s) everything remains the same as using from the city water port, except the source is the fresh water tank. (providing there is water in the tank)
