E19FD - Front corner molding cracks

While giving our E-pro a good cleaning before putting away for the season I discovered that the front trim/moulding has a couple of cracks about 2/3rds of the way up on each side. For the time being I have sealed them with a clear silicone sealer.

This is a picture of one side prior to adding the silicone sealer. Lighting was not the best but you can make it out if you open the full image.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issue?

I suspect this was caused by the warranty replacement of the fibreglass cap that was done in the spring of 2019, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this before I seek any remediation from Forest River or the dealer.

I have the same problem on my 2018 E-fd and did the same fix. Lots of other small problems. Can't understand why a company this big has a complete disregard for quality in their manufacturing processes.

Did you have any warranty repair work done on yours in that area and has it just cracked on its own over time?

I bought it new in 2018 and just noticed the cracking this summer, after the warrentee ran out. I had an issue with powder post beetles in the cabinets when I bought it. FR fixed it under warrentee with no issues. The corporate service manager (can't remember her name) was really great, they covered the bill ($1200) no questions. My big trouble was with the MorRyde steps and Camping World. I ended up replacing them with a pull out step myself.

OK, so I guess that means that my issue may not be related to the warranty replacement of the cap and just that these moldings can have this issue regardless. Will just have to keep an eye on them...

This is very common. Possibly at a more frequent rate with the black as it heats more in the sun. That said it is an easy diy job and inexpensive. Our trailer needed all of the front molding trim covers replaced immediately (sat on the dealer lot for 15 months). Took me about 30 - 40 minutes to do it all. Bought the covering on Amazon.

Donít forget to reseal at the ends.

So is that actually an insert I am looking at that is cracked? I thought it was all one piece. Looking at my picture it looks like it could be an insert.

Will have to have a closer look when I pull it out in the spring then.

Correct. Basically a cover for the screws.
