Is that expensive to install a 30 amp box?

Depends on how much wire you have to run from your household breaker panel.
I ran a dedicated circuit with its own breaker.
Box is cheap.
Remember box should be ran as 110 NOT 220.

Your welcome!
Yes the biggest mistake made by people is to wire it to 220 and bad things happen just after the breaker is thrown!

I used a 20 amp rated romex cable with a 20 amp fuse in the panel. I wired it to an outside "weatherproof" RV outlet.

Even running the air conditioner in the summer and the fireplace heater in the winter, I have never tripped the 20 amp breaker. I do have a pretty short run from the garage sub panel to the outside RV outlet (about 10 feet). I had the 12/2 on hand and would have had to pay for 10/2 for the 30 amp wire.

Many weaping threads here from folks who had "an electrician friend from across the street" help them wire up their plug.

Your camper is NOT a dryer.

Same here. We leave it plugged in at all times. We're just about to tackle putting in the 30 amp box. Maybe "we" is a bit too generous. DH will be tackling it. LOL. Bought the box last summer and just got the wire for free (yeah!! ) from a friend. Okay, it wasn't exactly "free." We bought him a case of Mountain Dew. DH is now researching where to put it.
