Question Flagstaff 26RLWS cargo question

The weather was beautiful here yesterday, so DW and I decided to visit our local Flagstaff dealer and do some browsing. We really liked the floor plan of the 26RLWS and, in looking at the brochure, the cargo capacity was listed as 1508 lb., which seemed adequate. However, when I looked at the yellow sticker on the unit, the dry unit weight was 145 lb. heavier than listed in the brochure, but the cargo capacity was only 748 lb. -- a drop of 760 lb.! My 21FBRS has a larger capacity than that!

I think there were some similar concerns expressed on this forum in the past month, but I could not find the posts. The dealer didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about. Can someone enlighten me? Did FR reduce this model's GVW without anyone?

26rlws capacity

I have the 26rlws emerald edition, it too does have 758 pound capacity. I knew this before buying and had some concern, but the Bride said this is the one she likes after shopping for 3 years while trying to sell our boat. We bought it in June and have traveled 2 months and 6500 miles . Have had 0 problems with trailer except for flat tire (2 nails). Tow Vehicle is 13 F150 Max Tow which pulled it fine. Averaged 9mpg. Worst mileage was on the open plains bucking into winds. The only thing I dislike is having to stack one rocker upside down on top of the other in order to close the slide

My 2015 V-lite(26WFKSS), is 6344 for the trailer, and allows 1653 for cargo.
Per the yellow sticker on the trailer.

We have a 2015 26RLWS also and will be watching this thread for responses. We bought based on the brochure/website specifications and (admittedly) didn't check the yellow sticker. I plan to weigh TT and TV next time we go out; we can gauge our future loads accordingly.

Also have a Flagstaff 26 RLWS. I had always thought the cargo capacity to be the higher(1500-ish) and have probably packed over 1000 on most trips (some permanent: dishes and cleaning products). About 5 outings since our purchase in OCT 14. No concerns. Pull it with a Nissan Titan 5.6L and get about 8.5 to 9 mpg. Not to thrilled with that, but it pulls well.

BTW, we took out one of the rockers in order to make room for a dog bed. We travel with all three dogs. v/r, Tim

NEVER believe brochure/website numbers.
many manufacturers, including FR, don't have correct specs or updated specs when changes are made. i have seen instances when it was 6 months before FR updated the website floorplans/specs for the new model year.

the yellow sticker is the best number to work with, other than weighing it at the scales.

Yes like the brochure say I had a 17' awning and it's only 15'. Then return the sunscreen and buy the 15' one.

My advice to new buyers is, MAKE SUR YOU LOOK UNDERNEATH! Our 2014 FS 27RLWS looked great,so I didn't! After we got her home and in our port, I washed and polished her up, then crawled under to check out the brake wiring as I have had the ones on my 2604 break because they were to short for up and down movement. Any that's when I found the RUST!! and not just a little, 1/4 thick on all of the exposed steel. Took it back they said no worrys we will clean her all up and give you a call. 2 weeks then 3, w/ me calling every day after first week. Avery time so and so are busting their buts they said. On the 3rd week I made a surprise visit and found they had spray painted over the rust with a spray can and said that's it.Called FR 5 times, when they did get back to me they said it was a dealer problem as they must not have washed the snow salt off after delivery. Shortly after I spent $1077 to get it done right( sanded and treated w/Ospho rust preventive, I was diagnosed w/ stage IV Cancer, and can not even use it. But it does look good in her port and I can watch football and sports and pretend I'm camping. So take my warning look under around and on top, cause when you leave that lot or dealer you are on your on! Don't count on the factory they absolutely Don't care or most times don't respond. Hope I didn't bring anyone down, but I feel strong about the lack of warranty mostly by the dealer, but including FOXRIVER. This is my 3rd and last of their products, had no problems with the other two but they cam from a different dealer. Lacy&Dee

WOW!! I'm speechless!! I write this as I sit in our new FR 26RLWS on a shake-down weekend prior to our 2nd out of town trip. So far, all the issues We have experienced have been user error other than the dealer overlooking plugging the refrigerator into the electrical....ran it on propane on the first trip.

Thanks for all the sage wisdom!! I hope you get to feeling better!!

Regards from S Tx--at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort (10 miles from home--it's still camping!)

First rule of thumb... Read these forums before you buy anything. Once you sign on the deal, it's over. That's another reason to make sure you have a great dealer.

BTW--we weighed our 2015 26RLWS LOADED at 5500# despite the yellow sticker indicating 5779# Dry Weight! Go figure!! We used a certified CAT scale.

My cargo weight per the yellow sticker is 850ish. We have had no issues with over loading!
