Ford f150 fw tow
Any body out there towing a 8524RLWS WITH A F 150 5.4 L 6.5 BED Super cab? If so how's it going? Just put a Patriot B&W 16K on. Seemed real good coming from dealer now it's loaded and ready to head south in a day or two. Just checking in for any info .

Follow up. Just pulled in from the CAT Scale with a record of the weight pleasantly surprised. 14,100 total weight. According to FORD manual in glove box I am good to 15,400. I have it loaded, tools, extra propane, antifreeze to winterize on the way home, Water in reserve tank and everything else inside and out food, etc, etc.

At 6600 dry and 1450 cargo on your trailer you are well under your rigs 9700 tow capacity as well so.. looks like you're golden.

Have been using a 2010 Tundra (1/2 ton) for four years towing about the same. Have probably towed over 25,000 miles, west, east, mountains, flat. It is rated for 15,500 GCWR. Have had everything weighed and am under on all axles etc, and it does great. Forgot to add: initially I got @ 10 mpg towing, now it is 11 mpg.

We tow a 8280WS with our F150 (2013) crew cab 6.5 box 4x4, 6.4L with absolutely no problem. Our Gross vehicle weight (loaded) is 8990 lbs. Actually the truck handles better with the 5th wheel connected. Plenty of power but mpg drops to just under 10 mpg over 2000 miles. The package is just right.

I've been towing fifth wheels with F150's since 2004 and am currently towing a Flagstaff 8528IKWS with a 2010 F150 XLT Supercrew cab, 4WD with a 6.5 foot box, and 5.4L engine. It was ordered for maximum towing so is properly equipped for 12 300 pounds.
If I should get another I'd order heavier tires and have an additional spring installed. Air bags have helped too. The truck gets good mileage and handles the load pretty well. Driving sensibly is the key. Good luck. Enjoy.

rijaton, just bought the same unit as yours. Got a 2013 XTL , max tow, HD payload, Ecoboost. Looking into hitches right now, but unsure whether to go with sliding hitch or not. I know they have the Reese Revolution hitch, so shouldn't have a problem, but what to make sure there is lots of clearance. What do you have?

Hi fitter, my 2 cents. Just purchased my first FW Forest River 8524RLWS.
It came with a Reese revolution Pin Box. I Checked around and found many people liked the B&W Patriot, it's not a slider but a solid quite hitch. Just got back from Florida yesterday everything good. As a matter of fact when I went to pick up the FW the dealers mechanic that set up the wedge on the Pin box said Oh, this is just what you need. It only cost $400 on Amazon and the bed rails and custom frame kit along with the bed wiring kit extension was $250, that's it. Hope this helps.
