Getting New 2023 E Pro 19FD Ready For Maiden Voyage

Hi,
I have had this trailer for 4 months now hooked up to power in back of my garage. How do I get started turning all systems on?
Thanks

You need to identify what "systems" you're asking about. And what you mean by "turning on".

Who/how was it "winterized?" Winterization is removing everything that can freeze -- mainly the water system. "De-winterizing" is putting everything back. Nothing exotic or challenging or unique to your camper or to Forest River at all.

Could be as simple as sanitizing and filling the freshwater tank and water system. If someone filled the water system with antifreeze it's probably best to connect your white fresh water nose and run water thru the trailer for several minutes. Expect it to taste funny for a while.

I am hoping an E-Pro FD19 owner can help. I know all trailers are different.

And if you plan to camp at a site that provides water, you can skip the fresh water tank step.

Our Cherokee is permanently sited where water is provided. In the fall we replace the water with RV antifreeze. In the spring we just run fresh water through all the taps until the "pink" goes away.

Warning: Do not turn on the water heater until you have changed the water heater valves from their (winter) bypass settings, re-installed the anode rod, and filled the tank with water. Turning the heater on with no water in it will cause damage. Don't be fooled. You will get (cold) water from the hot water taps if the water heater is bypassed. You need to be sure it is really filled. This is probably the biggest part of getting ready to go. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do that. Post back if you have questions.

The best way to insure your water heater is full of water is to open the pressure relief valve while either hooked up to city water or with water in the tank and the pump on.
Snap the lever back down when water comes out.

FWIW, it is recommended that you exercise these valves annually including the one on your home water heater. Something many people don't do. If the valve won't open or it starts leaking, it needs to be replaced. While very unusual for all the safety gear on a water heater to fail at the same time, it does happen. Results can be catastrophic - google the Mythbusters episode where they tested this. The water heater tuns into a rocket and can blast thru multiple stories of a home.

The valve looks something like this:

A four-month-old 2023 shouldn't need a thing if the water system is de-winterized and if the dealer did his prep correctly. Just test run all appliances -- electric and propane, ensure there's water in the lead-acid batteries, check tire pressure, and put a few gallons of water in the black tank to keep anything you're about to put in it in a liquid state.

I think the OP needs to de-winterize it himself. That includes making sure the water heater is un-bypassed and full before turning it on. Also making sure the anode rod is re-installed before attempting to fill the water heater.

I have the same trailer as your… Three items on water, you have a screw on water filter in the outside compartment next to the hot water access panel. Make sure the filter is installed and clear plastic filter container is tight. Next, lift up the dinette Seat, remove the single screw holding the cover closed, there are tags on the water pipes that show you the water heater value positions. Make sure water if flowing into the heater. Last, Hook the hose from your house up to the trailer, turn the water on, open each faucet hot and cold letting water flow out each. The more water you flow, the less likely you will have any antifreeze taste… NOW most important, open the pressure relief value on the water heater, water should come out…now you have the water system working, you can check the hot water heater. Very important you do not turn on the water heater without making sure water is in the heater. Enjoy the trailer, we love ours…

Mine is a 2023 so I may have a slightly different system than you do. I went on my first trip 2 weeks ago and except for the CO alarm going off for no reason and being temporarily locked out, it went great.

Believe it or not, they removed the installed water filter on the '23s and replaced it with an inline one that screws into the fresh water hose. I can understand why they did it -- it was the source of a lot of service calls from people who neglected their filter and didn't even know where it was -- but now the water from the fresh tank goes unfiltered which is not a good thing.
