KW1 water filter

Wanting to remove water filter in our 2018 Forest River Flagstaff 27BHWS that is mounted under the bathroom sink ( very inconvenient ). We use an exterior whole house water filter inline with our hoses. Only disadvantage I see is if we were to camp in freezing temps, which we wont be doing. It looks like all needs to be done is to couple the two lines together after removing the filter. Wondering if anybody has done this.

Almost everyone.
There are lots of prior posts on removing the onboard filter.
Most everyone then will use it outside near the water spigot.

If you search the KW1 on here you will find that many if not most owners do exactly that... bypass the internal filter and use an external filter.

If you end up camping in cold temps, instead of doing "city water", put the water in your fresh tank. Especially if you have tank heaters on your rig...

Just fill downstream of your filter.

It seems to me that Forest River intentionally puts the water filter in those most 'inconvenient' places. Not sure why....perhaps in an effort to drum up a little business for the dealers....or maybe just having a little fun with us. Whatever the reason, it pretty much forces the unsuspecting buyer/owner to modify things to a more logical arrangement.
