Main cabin air 8280ws 2016

Went camping this weekend and the outside temperature was around 87 degrees F. We had 30 amp service and were unable to get inside temp down to a comfortable 72ish degrees. I would prefer cooler but we were actually sweating. Any ideas or suggestions? Am I asking too much of the air conditioner?

Is it a ducted unit? Controlled by a thermostat?

I try to remember all pertinent information but always forget something! It is ducted but it also has that option for dumping it straight down into the room for a quick cool down. However none of the two seemed to make a big difference in temperature. When I'm on 50 amp service it stays fairly comfortable even though I can still tell a difference in temp from bedroom(cooler) to main living area (warmer).

Yes controlled by a thermostat.

We also have the 8280ws and were camping this past weekend in Chiefland, FL. Temps ranged from high 80's to low 90's.

We normally keep our thermostat at about 75 (Us Floridians throw on sweaters if it gets any cooler than that. lol).

We use the AC dumps and the ceiling fan in living area during the day to help cool the living area. At night, we close the dumps to force more air to the bedroom.

The AC ran almost constantly during the day this past weekend and barely held that temp in the living area. At night it does fine when it cools down some outside.

We have had two 8280ws fifths. The first was white (burned in a storage fire). The current one is the tan color. The color makes more difference than I would have thought. The tan trailer is much harder to cool down than the white one was.

The sun makes a huge difference also with that tan roof. I do my best to reserve shady campsites when they are available.

When I buy my next rig, it will have dual AC units.

I have a 27RWL and it came with one ducted AC. It just could not keep the trailer cool enough during the summer. It would cool off ok at night but during the day it was just too hot. Soooo I added a 2nd AC, in the bedroom. Now you could hang meat in the trailer! The new unit isn't ducted, it dumps into the room.

Installing the AC was easier than I expected. Hardest part was getting the unit on the roof.

My advice is to have the AC inspected if you think it's not working correctly. If it is then you will want to add a 2nd unit. Best wishes and stay cool bro!

Have done a little experimenting today. Temperature in camper around 83-84 degrees. Air blowing out of main cabin air was 70 degrees. The air blowing out of bedroom air conditioner was 60 degrees. The main cabin is 15k and bedroom is 13.5k. Time to call service department?
