Poor 25FKBS design

We have a 2023 25FKBS. We love the unit. After having a 25fks we decided to upgrade. One complaint I have is the power/water service entrance. For some very over sighted and stupid reason, the water (ALL) comes into the camper OVER the electrical connection. Being a retied electrical engineer and having studied the NFPA for years this just doesn't make sense. At the very least, I'm surprised Forest river didn't recall these. At the very most, I'm surprised the hasn't been an accident and/or law suit

Does seem strange to see that but I am in my camper right now with the same electrical connection in a good rain storm. Just a flapper above the cord. My water is up front.
No problems.
And the cord that attaches to it is hanging on a partially open pedestal with the surge protector to cord connection hanging below it exposed to the rain.

I can see the water dripping from your fresh water hose connection in the pic. That shouldn't happen. Suggest you get a 90 degree elbow for your fresh water hose that should take the stress off the hose fitting. Also wrap the male ends of the water hose and elbow with plumbers teflon tape when you put it all together and that should eliminate the dripping.

Get a 90 or a 45 for your water hose. Tape and tighten them, and you should be good. I'd have everything connected then turn the water on at the park/city connection, then the power. Your power connection is gasketted and has a ring to tighten it to the trailer. It's a similar scenario as packing up in the rain.

At shows, we've seen several models like that and not just Forest River.

I guess I don't understand the concern. Water shouldn't be leaking out of any of those hose connections and if it is, you need to address that. I'd be more worried about the water leak that's likely to travel back through the city water connection where it comes through that plastic panel. That's a known leak spot for water getting inside and down the wall.

And as mentioned, the electrical connection gets plenty of water on it during rain storms.

I was thinking of the same thing this past weekend. I just took a little slower pace and made sure the electrical outlet was screwed on correctly. ( Now that thing is a PITA) I never get it screwed on right the first time. But I too have the 90 degree elbow and turn it to one side to avoid possible drips. I do hook the electrical up first then the water lines. That way I have nothing to interfere with the E cord installation. If the E outlet is on correctly I don't worry too much about the waterlines.

Not sure what the big deal is....you have hose connected to tank flush, so city water is to left bottom

its the puddle that you are standing in that makes things much worse
more people electrocuted with bare feet..... than gumboots

gotta say that layout is kinda stupid...
I'm betting the design was meant for trailers going to Aussieland
--------------------------------------------

You can find some better cover to protect it from too much water/rain
marine vent covers work good
