RV Pedestal Electrical Connection
What do you use to achieve a good connection at the RV electrical pedestal dielectric grease, conductive grease or other to prevent arching and corrosion of power cord terminals?

I keep the prongs on my connector clean and turn off power at the pedestal until the connection is made then turn on the breaker. I also turn off the power before unplugging. No arcing that way.

X2, I have done this for the last 40 years with all of my trailers. Never had an arcing issue.

cleans and protects all your electrical prongs, even on the TV/trailer
better than contact cleaner...

As the others have said, keeping everything clean and making sure the power is off before plugging in or disconnecting is essential. I use a light coating of dielectric grease on the prongs to help prevent corrosion between uses. We also carry a 50 amp to 30 amp dog bone adapter so we can use the 50 amp receptacle if the 30 amp receptacle is worn - I think the 30 amp receptacle gets more use and runs closer to it's full amperage at a lot of parks.

Agree with all and one more step before turning breaker on at the pedestal, plug in pull out plug, plug in pull out 3 - 4 times it helps to make a cleaner connection with the pedestal that may tarnish slightly - cleaner contacts, less resistance, less heat - No arching!!

Yep. The most important thing is to shut the breaker off then plug in. I use di-electric grease on all electrical connections.

I use Noalox made by Ideal. Found at Home Depot.

dielectric grease is NON-conductive and its only purpose is to seal out moisture and prevent corrosion on connectors. It will not allow for a better electrical connection.
