Tray on tire carrier 21FBRS

My slightly used 21FBRS came with this tray welded to the top of the tire carrier. Anyone have an idea what it's for?

I would be afraid that that thing would bounce and gouge into the fiberglass siding. I would tape a 'float noodle' on that edge.

Anything heavy (wood, generator..) would have bent the metal down in the back side of the flat plate.

Place set the lug nuts and tire iron while changing a flat?

Table top to rest your beer while setting up?

Mother-in-Law seating?

That's what I'm guessing -place for the DW to sit/stand when giving directions on how to change a flat.

No idea what it is for but it does look like a good place to tie down some wood blocks.

I don't think it came from the factory like that. Someone had a purpose for it I guess. I like the mother in law idea!

Ask the dealer or person you bought it from. I would probably remove it.

Why remove it? It's prettry handy for putting things on and the owner will probably find it very useful.

x2

Besides it looks like a good place to place a cold drink while working in that area.

I wouldn't give it another thought. It looks sturdy and neat. Just use it for what ever purposes it lends itself to and soon you'll be glad it's there.
