TV wall mount

I am trying to install a new tv mount in the bedroom of my flagstaff 26fkbs. It is the outside wall with the metal backing. Can anyone recommend a good secure type of screw or anchor to hold up the mount and a 22" tv. The mount and tv weigh about 12lbs.

Thanks

I used 3/4" stainless sheet metal but do not remember the size...maybe 8 or 10? Not self tapping. I first used the smallest drill bit in my set to make sure I had backing plate behind all 4 mount holes. Then predrilled the final wall screw locations (3/16" bit I believe) to mount the bracket. Same small TV as yours. Used a mount that easily detaches tv from wall for TV storage while traveling. Sorry I didn't have specific specs but you get the idea. The wall backplate is very thin but it does the job.

If you have a window on that wall I’d suggest looking at the thickness of the wall there. Then measure to make sure you get a metal screw that’s shorter than that. I’d say it needs to stick out past the tv mount 3/4” of an inch. It’s best to drill the hole with a bit a little smaller. A screw with a socket head or hex head for a socket would help!
