What is This Device

Hi,

I'm still finding new things in my Flagstaff 5th Wheel. This one is at the bottom of the TV area, and looks like a ventilated door. Problem is that it won't open. There is a knob, but there also is 2 hinges on one side and 1 hinge on the other. By looking thru the screen, there is something inside, but I don't know what.

Please help,

Gary

I have to undo the two screws that are on the right side hinge. On my trailer, I have a water filter behind a similar door.................and access to my water heater valves behind another door below my pantry.

You would think they would make it easier to access.

Maybe I am missing something and others have a better/easier way

Do you have surround sound? It may be the cabinet that contains your sub-woofer.

May be an enclosure for the surround sound subwoofer.

Easy way to find out, put on some shorty music, crack the volume and feel for the air flow.

OK, I kinda thought a subwoofer, but wasn't sure. You are right though. The easiest way to find out would be to open it. Let you know.

Our 233S has the extra hinge on 2 doors: The furnace which I've never had a need to get to. And then on the door to access the water pump and filter.

I've had several people ask why the access is impaired. It totally mesmerizes my 9 year old son. Can anyone give a "good" explanation why the factory does this? Why not just put a normal latch and knob on there?

We have one of those mystery doors below the wardrobe in our bedroom. Walk through tech said (when we asked) that's a service panel, not something you want to mess with.

Because you know if it can be opened, some idiot will try to store blankets on the pump and wonder why it blows out in the middle of a shower.
