16k revolution turnover ball short bed dilemma
I have 2012 f250 cc4x4 shortbed with slight lift and b&m turnover. I just got a '17 8289ws with 16k revolution. I used a cushion collar to get it home, and hated every mile. Wagging and chucking are two of my least favorite things in that log wagon of a truck. Do i change the pin box out for a goose? If so, which one? I almost ordered a companion, but b&m says i gotta change over to rails and that's just unattractive all-around. I roll with a gang box. I don't like the idea of having to go drop my box at a job before i set camp or worse yet...manual gang box transfer from bumper to bed. I'm also not liking the hardware in bed issue, BUT if a goose pin box is gonna be annoying to drag around i will do what i have to with my tools and 5 plate. Or i could keep dragging my tt with double sway that scares everyone at fuel stops all that popping and groaning, but dammit i want a easy 70 mph tow no matter what i gotta do. Thanks in advance for educating this noob

You mean a B&W turnover? If you’re going to use the turning point feature of the Revolution pinbox then the Companion hitch can’t be used (supposedly torques too much on the center shaft). If it was me I’d keep the Revolution pinbox and just get the Anderson Ultimate Connection 5th wheel hitch for your truck. You’ll get the best towing experience and not have to deal with a heavy hitch in your truck box. A couple other bonuses is you can move the hitch to another truck with a GN in about a minute, it has a range of options and adjustments for height, and by keeping the Revolution/Turning point you can use that very feature to fold/rotate back the hitch if you’re parking your trailer in a tight spot. You mention you have a tool box in your truck…Anderson makes an option for that but if your tool box is raised off the bed floor a couple inches you may be ok with the standard version. You’ll need to do a bunch of measuring regardless because you’re accommodating a tool box and a lift. The Anderson is certainly the cheaper option as something like a Reese Goose Box will be more costly…and it may not even be compatible with your frame mounting bolt pattern on the RV.

Not sure one of those adapters is a good idea, puts a lot of strain on the rv neck/frame. And considering it’s a Lippert frame…eeek. Don’t do it!

Most folks around here use gooseneck adapters on their fifth wheels as they don't want to change the hitch out when switching trailers between fifth wheel and their farm/ranch goosenecks. Have seen the adapter used on every RV from small fifth wheel to monster toy haulers. No problems and much easier. I figure the folks that say as soon as you install one the RV will blow up and your dog will die have never been around them, much less used one.
Do what makes your life easier.

I'm kinda leaning toward an executive, but a pyramid is tempting. I hate not knowing what will work best. It's an expensive learning process
