2008 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite

We have a 2008 Rockwood Signature 3296ss which apparently has a leak. While away last weekend we experienced heavy rains and our front kitchen counter was covered with water. After finding this forum we realize we are not alone in this issue. We contacted Forest River (thanks to grhodes50 for a number) and they told us to contact the place of purchase. (we purchased it new to order) We did so and were told that it was our problem - there was no recall so we were on our own and should take it somewhere to get it fixed. We have left a message with FR to please give us a call as we don't feel this the answer. Much like lierz we are just sick over this and were so glad to find this forum. We will also seek correction for this problem as we do not feel it is our fault. Any ideas you have for doing so would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your leaking problem. I am certainly no expert on this subject, but I did have some leaking on my 09 Rockwood. My first suggestion is to try to locate the source of the leak and make at least a temporary repair. Keep in mind that water leaks can travel a distance before making it into your rig. The most likely culprit is a seam with missing or cracked caulking.

As for warranty coverage, from what I know you may be out of luck. Seam maintenance is up to the owner and is generally not covered in your warranty except for possibly the first 30-60 days. Some on the forum, including me, have had siding delamination which was repaired under warranty by FR.

I suggest that you take some digital photos of the damage and try to make a case for yourself. Again, you may have a very uphill battle.

As soon as there is a water leaks that go unnoticed for some time a delamination start and the glued sandwich of styrofoam to the wood start to separate from the glued pieces. By the time you find it it is too late. I think the old wood frame trailers with plywood floors were far better for long lasting without delamination problems. I am already learning it on my 1809s 2011 new trailer. For the money we pay it is quite shocking.
