Welcome!
Don't ever be afraid to ask a question here. However, just about every question you will have has probably already been asked and answered and can be found using the search function. Still, it never hurts to ask again.

Thanks. I'm new to the RV scene but not to forums, I'll search first and ask for help if I don't find something.

Tow Vehicle Caution - 8313SS
Hello Guitardoc,
My wife and I in September purchased a 2009 Rockwood 8313SS which I assume is the same model as yours but a year older. We love the camper as it has a lot of floor space for the grandkids to play in. My concern with your situation is the tow vehicle you plan to use. We first used our 2000 Ford Expedition with the 5.4 L engine and heavy duty towing package, etc. This camper proved to be too much for this TV. It was truly a white knuckle experience towing this camper even at speeds no more than 60 mph. We had the camper weighed on a CAT scale and it's dry weight was 7,100 lbs, 600 lbs. more than the Rockwood label on the front corner of the camper.
We decided to upgrade to an F250 and located a very low mileage 2013 low-bed, crew cab version of the F250 with a 6.2 L gas engine. We have taken one fall camping trip so far and have towed this camper about 110 miles and what a difference in towing capability this truck makes. We now feel much safer and self-confident.
Welcome to the group.

Thanks for the concern. My EB has plenty of power to pull and is a long wheelbase 4X4. I guess I'll know on the maiden voyage home from the dealer if it's up to the job but I'm confident that it will be ok.

Don't let the dealer sell you a cheap hitch and sway bar.

Something with integrated sway control such as the Equal-i-zer 4 point, the Reese Dual Cam or the Blue Ox Sway Pro. There are many people on this forum with these hitches and they seem to perform very well. I have 5 1/2 years and 21,000 miles on my Equal-i-zer 4 point and wouldn't use anything else. Then there are the high end sway eliminating hitches, the Hensley and Propride. People who have those swear by them as well.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the 8313s I was going to buy Monday got sold Saturday and I'm back to searching. Note to self, drop a deposit.

Sorry to hear that but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
You will find another and when you do, stop back.
Glad to have you aboard!

We're still looking. I'm still upset because it was a good deal with lots of nice features. I really liked the power landing gear it had.

The 2010 in Scott is the one I lost out on. The '09 at the same place won't do, has some soft spots on the floor and the basement smells like mold.
