Actually, production of good manuals would be very expensive. Keeping them up to date would be much worse.
The supply chain in this industry is very shaky. Their motto is something like "If it fits, we'll use it." If you look at your purchase contract, you will see a clause like "Forest River reserves the right to change any component without notice. In practice, that means that if they run out of e.g., propane refrigerators, they will start shipping compressor refrigerators and you have no recourse.
(The propane refrigerator is much preferred by those who would camp where there's no power.)
