2012 Rockwood 2109S
I'm looking to put down a deposit on a new 2012 2109S and wanted to get any thoughts on the camper from people that have the same or a similar model. I've searched a lot of the treads and got a lot of good information, but not much specific to the 2109s. Also, who seems to have the best price if anyone wouldn't mind sharing some information.

Smitty - I ordered a 2109S from RVWholesalers on 2/17. I hope to hear any day now that it has been built. I expect to pick it up mid to late April if the construction timing is right. If you are still in the market in late
April I can give you some information. RVW had one of the lowest prices that I found, but it is always a trade off that you will not have your dealer close by if/when you need repairs.

I cant give you info on the 2109S but I can give you info on a place that sells them and are just as good if not better then RVW
I bought last year a 2011 Mini Lite 2306 - couldnt be any happier with the purchase.
I would buy from these people again - its a mom and pop operation and couldnt have asked for any better.
Tropical RV in Ft Pierce ( Florida RV Dealers, FL RV Dealership, Used RV, New RV, Travel Trailer, Fifth Wheel, Popup campers - Tropical RV Sales - Tropical RV Sales )- they give wholesale pricing as well
where they make there money is on the options which I would expect them to make money some where or they wouldnt be in business

Hello,
I bought a 2012 2109S in late Feb from a dealer at an RV show here in Vermont. The problem in VT is that there is not a lot of competition as this dealer is still close to a 2 hr drive. Even with that, I think I got a fair price, though not as low as I have seen on the web but traveling to OH, IN or FL is not an option. We got it for a little over $4k less than MSRP with the Convenience Pkg A and a second battery installed. I pick it up on April 7 and I just sold my popup!!

Well I just put down my deposit at RVWholesalers, should have it by the end of April. Went with the Cherry and seagrass interior. Now just have to plan a trip up there to pick it up. We will miss our hybrid, but looking forward to the upgrade.

Smitty you will not regret the purchase. I toured the Flagstaff/Rockwood factory last week and the building process is amazing. Great quality control and it is all hand built my the amish. They build 30 units a day. Altering styles built each day as well. So one day will be a certain model of 5th wheel and the next day could be a certain model of V-Lite/Windjammer, or a travel trailer. The Flagstaffs and Rockwoods are built on the same line with the same materials. The only difference is the decals on outside and the interior cloth colors. Other than that, no difference. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Pics are always great to share too.

Has anyone bothered with the extended 5-year warranty? I opted not to get it, but have until pickup to change my mind. Apparently it is $1,500 and covers 5 years, but you get it back if it is never used. But it is also forfeited if any warranty work is done over the 5 years. They kept mentioning the slide seal and how it wouldn't be covered under the normal warranty. Is this something to be concerned with?

My dealer offered me a extended service warranty of 5 or 7 year plans. This offered by XtraRide. I have not picked my unit up yet but after research on this forum, I have decided against buying that policy.
I did however buy the 2nd year warranty offered by Forest River for $150.
Countdown: 7 days until I pick up my 2012 Rockwood 2109S!!!

I will also buy the 2nd year warranty. Have not decided on the 7 year warranty option yet. I pick up my trailer in mid April so I have some time to think about it. My dealer actually told me I can wait until my factory warranty is up and then purchase the 7 year warranty if I want, that way it would be more like a 8 year warranty for the trailer. I am planning on keeping my trailer for a long time, so the warranty may be worth it for me. I suppose a lot of it will depend on how long you plan on keeping the trailer.

Smitty,
You will not be dissapointed with your 2109S. We picked ours up Feb 14th. Have had some short stays and one good trip to Missouri. Trailer functioned great. We also went with the extra year and if need be can extend it. For you and other folks, check out WanaRV.com in northern, IN. Not only do they have good deals, but they are good people. They can also give you a great price on a Honda gen. They ship them all over. Good luck.

I plan on keeping my TT for a long time also but still opted against the extended service contract. My thoughts were that if anything major was to happen it would most likely be in the first 2 years plus I am a little fanatical about maintenance on the unit ( engineer by degree, work in substation maintenance at a utility) and am handy making repairs and troubleshooting.

wbdvt,
I read a number of messages on extended warranty. I was presented with the 7 year warranty pitch but chose not to purchase it based on the cost. I would however purchase the additional year warranty through FR. How did you contact them/purchase it. Can you please provide emails address, telephone number etc.

The FR extended warranty was iin the package of paperwork that I had to fill out for the sale. The dealer should offer you it but I have seen on this forum some cases where the dealer did not provide it or acknowledge there was one. In that case people contacted FR directly. The paperwork did say that it had to be completed within 10 days of the sale.

2109s - A Great little trailer
We purchased a 2012 - 2109s last September and have put about 5 thousand miles on it so far. We are currently touring the southern states with it; Louisianna, Alabama, etc and just love it. I tow it with a V6 Toyota Tacoma (with off-road/towing package) and it tows very smoothly. The truck, however, is a pig on gas!
The 2109s has most of the features of a bigger trailer but a lot more compact. We get allot of inquiries about it while on the road. I don't believe that you'll be sorry purchasing this unit.
All the best!

Left a deposit on one, just waiting for the call that it's in. Ended up going through rv wholesalers. It's a little bit of a drive for us, but seems to be a good dealership and definetly has good pricing.

I'm working on a gravel parking area on the side of the house, and just wondering if anyone knows the length of the camper with the tongue. The web says 21.5', but not sure if that includes just the box or with the tongue and bumper. Also the width with the door open and stairs extended. Hoping to get this done before we pick the camper up. Thanks in advance.

I just went out and measured mine quickly:
Length: 23 ft and that includes the spare tire on bumper
Width: 8'-1" for TT, ~18" for steps and the slide is in but I would estimate 2'
