2012 Rockwood SUL 8293RKSS - Just Ordered!

Anyone have anything to say about this new trailer? Good or Bad?
Realistically, how long does it take to deliver...

We decided on the regular size dinette and hide-a-bed vs. the table or King u-dinette, so that 3 could join us overnight vs. 2. Opinions...?

ABSOLUTELY LOVE OURS!!! we opted for the table and chairs as most of our peeps have campers already, and we have no kids!! We will be going out again this weekend!!
Hard to say on the turn around...ours was already on order when we made up our Mind. If I'm not mistaken the dealer had ordered it late feb/early march, we took delivery on may 28th! Have not regretted it since!!!!

We love, love, LOVE our 8293RKSS!!! Huge bathroom was a must for us, because we didn't need any bunks, etc. No kids. The outside kitchen was also a must have. Ours has the free standing table and chairs as well. From order date to delivery it was around 10 weeks, but that was in the rush before Memorial Day. Our TT was actually off the line on Thursday, out of quality control on Friday, and we were driving it off our dealer lot on Saturday morning! My DH has made a few cosmetic changes and added a few things - another outlet on the outside (there is only one!); added a bracket underneath to carry "big blue", added a magazine rack in the living room, put a wood handle on the screen door, put a self-closer on the screen door, built a new spice rack to be 3-tier instead of two; installed formica on the side of the cabinet next to the stove to make splatters easier to clean up, and we put indoor/outdoor carpeting on the steps. His next "mod" is to put a storage bin above the drawers underneath the bed and to make a shelf for the end of the bed. Oh, and he's going to see about adding more shelves around the medicine cabinet and he's going to add a 12-volt outlet on the outside. He's a woodworker, so he's always "tinkerking!" Oh, and we added the antenna booster. Only thing I've found so far is that I'd like the TV in the living room to swivel; can't see it really good from the couch.

I guarantee you'll love yours too!

Just curious...I put a deposit down and found financing through my bank. I have a trade in to take to the dealer but the new trailer won't be delivered for a few more weeks now. When do I secure the financing/loan; when I have a VIN and MSRP; or upon delivery and physical delivery of my trade-in? How does that work? Thanks...RR

I would think your bank and the selling dealer should be able to work out the details. Let them handle it, that is what you are paying for.

Also don't forget about insurance, most loan companies will require to carry separate insurance on the trailer to protect their investment. Might want to start shopping for that too. If nothing else, it will keep your mind off waiting on your camper.

We secured the financing before we signed the papers for the TT. When you made the deal for the new camper, your trade should have been discussed, like when you drop it off, etc. I would assume you'd keep it until you pick up the new TT. When we had a VIN # for the TT, we completed the deal with the credit union, picked up the check, and picked up our unit. We picked up the check at 5pm on Friday and were driving off the lot with our new TT at 11Am the next morning.

I will... fingers crossed everything works, but this isn't my first TT; so planning to spend some time at the dealer for the walk through.

I'm excited for you!! We absolutely love our 8293RKSS. Had it for 5 months and we've camped over 60 days. There were a few "issues"....the thickness of shelving is woefully inadequate, but my DH is uber-handy, so he's replaced two of them and I'm sure we'll have all of them replaced with 1/2 inch plywood in a year. Above all else HAVE FUN!
