2017 8289WS question

Was looking on the internet at the different years of the 8289WS fifth wheels for sale. I noticed that almost all of the ones available including the 2017 of which we have, have the bedroom slide on the passenger/curb side of the unit. Ours is on the drivers side. Anyone have any idea as to why these are made different. I never found one listed for sale that has the slide on the drivers side like ours.

I would suggest your unit was manufactured at the tail end of the 2017 model year and had the the features of the 2018.

Many of the manufacturers change the VINs to make their trailers a new model year in the early spring, but don't make actual model year changes until mid-summer. In addition, they change the model year early in the PRECEEDING year.

For example, my Micro Lite was built on 4/7/15, but is a "2016" model. But it's the same as the 2015's built late in 2014 and earlier in 2015. And different than 2016's built late in 2015.

So it could depend on when your 2017 was built; if it was built in spring 2016, it could look like a late 2016 (i.e, built in late 2015). If it was built in late 2015 or early 2016, it might look like an early 2018 (built in spring 2017); then the design may have changed in summer 2017 for the later 2018 models.

Sales date has nothing to do with it. Look at manufactured date on sticker on left front side.

Your info states you have a "2018." If so, would have been built some time between April of 2017 through April of 2018, plus or minus a month.

I'm is the tan colored , it was manufactured in 2017 , but didn't sell till 2018 . My registration says it's a 2018 but it's not. The 2018 models came in white color

The white color may have been the change made in the middle of the model year; as I tried to explain in the 1st paragraph of Post #3.

Also, color has been an option on some trailer models in the past.
