2018 Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104S Slideout issue?
We just purchased a brand new Model 2104S. My wife and I have been enjoying the last couple days camping and checking it all out. We don't know if we have an issue or not with our slideout, so before we re-contact the dealer, I wanted to check with other owners. When we flip the switch to the slideout, it slides out but not straight out - one side will move several inches diagonally and then the other side will move several inches diagonally until it is fully extended. Once we we switch the slideout "in", it retracts straight in. Has anyone experienced this? During our "walk through" at the time of our sale at our dealership, we also witnessed this, but we were told by our salesman, the person presenting the trailer to us and a mechanic that this was normal. Any help would be appreciated. My wife is concerned we might get stranded somewhere with a "stuck" slideout.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked underneath the slideout and there is only one rod that is located directly in the center of the slideout. Is that the gear drive?

It's pretty normal. I have a 2017 2104S and the slide is a little wobbly on extension. I was also told this was normal during the PDI due to the single central actuator. Just keep everything properly lubed and the rubber seals maintained and you shouldn't have any problems.

Our 2506S Mini Lite was doing the thing, however it was at an angle coming in.. Took it to the dealer and they made some adjustments.. it is better now but not perfect.

Not sure if any difference between 2018 and 2017 models - ours wobbles a bit but not inches at a time. I haven't looked closely at it but would assume there are alignment adjustments that can be made and/or sliding surfaces that can be checked for any unusual resistance. Maybe some silicone spray on the seal flaps on each side? (This would certainly create uneven friction side-to-side.) Keep us posted if you find anything. Thanks!

Ours wobbles a little too on extension when it first starts. During our delivery the dealer said when opening or closing to make sure we go all the way in/out and not stop in the middle. He said if we stop short enough it will wear unevenly and eventually need repair.

Mine operates exactly the same way. It is disturbing to watch but apparently this is 100% normal.

I have the 2017 2104s and has been adjusted by the dealer for the slide bracket was a finger width from the tire and tech attempted to calm it down without me even asking, but it still warbles when it extends and retracts. Glade to hear this normal.
