2019 Geo Pro G16BH Tire Rubbing Issue
I purchased this camper from the original owner on Wednesday 7/21/21, but a friend noticed after parking it that the tire is rubbing on the inside wheel well (driver side), and the tire super close on the passenger side.
Looking for some pointers in the right direction. Thanks!

Not sure what is causing your rubbing but I would start by looking at the tire placard on the camper to see if those are the right size tires that came on it.

Tire size and PSI seem to checkout. Attached is a photo of the Passenger side gap. First thing that comes to mind is the wheel offest is incorrect. I've submitted "Contact Us" info to Forest River, Dexter, and Lionshead. The plastic inside-fender is super thin, and it doesn't appear the tire is rubbing on the frame/subfloor, etc., so I don't think the tire is compromised. Just wondering if any other Geo Pro owners have had this issue? And, what the solution is? I can't imagine this is an isolated incident, and I did search with no avail...
Thanks!

That is crazy. Those are the OEM tires. No contact with mine, will inspect further tomorrow. Oppressive humidity here.

Check your build sheet. Those tires come with off-road package. My only thought is they put the off road tires on, but not the proper off road lift maybe??

Tire size matches the ones on build sheet. Again, I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but it appears the lift block is in there...

Maybe the PO took it off road and messed up the axle.

That's quite possible, but he was a retired FF, and said they only used it 7 times in RV parks. Camper is in near perfect shape otherwise...

Since warranty is expired probably, I'd take it to an axle shop and ask them what they think. Or send call Dexter and see if you can send them pics.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll email pictures to my local trailer shop. Hopefully, they can determine the problem, and recommend a fix. I'll also report back if Rockwood, Dexter, or Lionshead get back to me.
In the meantime, I recommend anyone with a Geo Pro to check the inside of the wheel wells for tire rubbing.

Glad you caught it when you did, that could be a disaster.

Yes, I agree. I hope everything checks out, and new wheels with negative offset are all that's required. Please let me know how much clearance you have after you get a chance to take a look. Thanks!

I have at least 1.5" clearance on inside/top. And my axle is attached differently. I don't have that two part bracket like you have.
PS, you don't have to thank me for every post, filling up my in box!

I would take it to a truck/rv axle shop... not a dealer... I don't think pictures are going to be enough to make an argument one way or the other...

Understood! I've sent the pictures to our local trailer company, and I'l follow up tomorrow. Hopefully, we can figure it out before our next big trip.

I can only guess that there is suppose to be a different wheel with offset or a different axle. even though it is out of warranty IMO Rockwood should be able to assist with some information as from the tire standpoint it is a safety issue. Do you really need the "off-road" tires? Be careful with changing tire size to a ST225/75R15 as the load capacity would be lower.

Is that something that can happen with an overloaded camper? The driver side may have been more overloaded and why it may be closer?

Thanks for the reply. Roger that about changing the tire size. I'm going to assume that a spacer is not the correct way to solve this issue? Hopefully, my trailer shop, Rockwood, Dexter, and Lionshead can come up woth a solution. By any chance, do you know of a wheel manufacture that has negative offset options? I'm not finding many...

Driver side is definatley more loaded because the slide is on that side. I have heard some issues with the R-pod, but nothing that matches mine. The previous owner did things by the book, so I can't assume he overloaded the trailer. When I mentioned the tire rubbing issue, he said, "that's news to me"...
