2020 2205s. Wow

Took delivery today of our 2205S Rockwood Minilite today, from Campers Inn Philadelphia...

Very nice place to buy we must say...

Wow what a super floorplan!

If you are thinking 2109S, take a look at the 2205... not much bigger, but it is much bigger!!

We pull it with a 2016 2wd Ford F150 with the 2.7 EcoBOOST and it pulls the trailer like it isnt there.

Goin campin with it first of April...

Can't wait.

Congratulations!

Took a look at the floorplans and while the 2205 is only a foot and a half longer, it does look bigger. The slide appears to be deeper and clears more floor space in the center of the rig.

Hope you have a great camping trip..... Hurray up, April.

Thanks!

We traded our 2109s for the 2205s, so thats how I say not much bigger to pull, but the interior useable space is a lot more for being just a foot and a half longer.
It is taller off the ground too, 3 step entry not the 2 the 2109 had.
The reclining theater seats are real comfortable, heat and vibrate work well. Plenty big enough to sleep on when reclined all the way, and I am 6'3".
Rockwood put more puck led lights in the ceiling. The best new one is right over the entryway so it lights up inside the pantry, big improvement that the 2109 needed...
The fireplace is nice and the heat it puts out kept it warm inside at 38 degrees outside.
Big storage bay up front will probably hold a canoe if we wanted.
Fit and finish all seem pretty darn good so far. Nice job Rockwood!

Our 2205S is on our way, supposedly will arrive in April. Not sure how long it takes from order to arrival.

We ordered ours 12/7/19, it was built 2/14/20, delivered to dealer in Eastern, Pa on 3/2/20.

Christmas and New Years were in there so may have slowed the process a bit.

Worth the wait, it is real nice!!

Our's came with the Dometic 310 porcelin toilet, white, but had a plastic seat. We Amazoned the wooden slow close seat and it is so much nicer.

Also, an FYI, if you plan to use a Roku or Firestick for internet content to the tv and want the sound to play through thr IRV receiver you will need audio cables from audio out of the tv to audio in on the back of the IRV unit... easy 10 minute fix.

Our 2109s came with those cables hooked up, but the 2205s didn't...

I thought I also needed to run audio out from the TV to the IRV unit on my 2205S and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it wasn’t necessary! The IRV was connected via the HDMI cable to the TV via the ARC (audio return channel) port on the IRV, and when I selected TV2 on the IRV, there was the TV sound! There was nothing documenting this feature, and because it didn’t exist on my 21FBRS, I wasn’t looking for it.

Check it out before you pull the IRV and you just might be surprised.

Thanks Marinerjoe.

Thats what I thought too, went through all the audio selections on the IRV and no sound with the Roku signal on the tv. The Roku sound would play on the tv speakers, but not the IRV's.

Our 2109 had the separate speaker wires, so I pulled the IRV and ran new RCA plugs from tv to IRV, then all worked ok.

I would think it would work through the HDMI 'cause the DVD's sound works ok, but... I dunno...

Works now, can't see any wires hanging, so good for now.

The IRV pops out easy, the little side trims are magnetic, 4 wood screws behind them and it slides out. Naturally the wood screws are only into the wood trim, not plastic expanders and the last one to be tightened kept turning. I'll pull it out again at some point and install the little plastic things.

Tough to appreciate the floor plan differences without seeing the floor plans. For others like me who haven’t memorized the Mini Lite lineup, here’s what the two models look like.

I'm surprised.

For only a 6% increase in length, the UVW is 20% heaver and the GVWR is about 17% heaver.

Seems odd. The larger slide must be adding quite a bit more weight.

Or maybe it's a cast iron fireplace!

Taking delivery of my 2205S Next Week!!

Congrats on your trailer!!

I take delivery of my rig next week! We are so excited and think this will be a great first trailer. The floor plan is super. Our unit has the dinette. I hope I did not make a mistake with that decision.

Can't wait to get out camping!

CONGRATS!

Great choice for your first trailer.

Good luck in your travels!

We sure love ours. Have been "camping" in our driveway since we brought it home.

We camp mainly at State Pks in PA, and they are all closed on our side of the state.

Any questions, post them and you will get lots of help.

Our 2205s has been on order for quite a while, supposedly to be made this Wednesday and then has to reach us on the left coast. We also felt this was a very roomy and liveable trailer considering the overall length. Please post any mods or problems you encounter.

We also looked at both very hard and decided on the 2109s. The way that we use it we felt the 2109 would serve us better We thoroughly love it. Both very very good floor plans.

Hello,
My wife and I are looking at the 2205S with theater seating, Wondering what the yellow sticker on the inside of your door jam of your truck has for cargo weight? mine has 1285 lbs. Mine is a 2017 f150 lariat fx4 2.7 4X4 with 3.55 gears
any guess of what your tongue weight is when you have it loaded up for camping?

Use 12% of the trailer's GVWR for a ballpark loaded tongue weight.
That's why I bought a XLT since the fancy bling trim eat up payload. My payload is almost 600lbs more.

Hello,
Knowing what you know about my truck and your rig, would you feel comfortable towing it with my truck?
Thanks

Well, 12% of GVWR is 800lbs. That leaves 485lbs. Subtract 100lbs for the WDH, that leaves you 385lbs for driver/passengers and truck cargo.
My wife and i I would weigh more than 385lbs.
So not knowing what would be in your truck, I can only say that it wouldn't work for us.

clayshooter, our current TT has a fictional dry tongue weight of 620lbs.
I weighed it a week ago, with my Sherline tongue scale. Loaded for a short 4 night camping trip, it weighed around 820lbs. So 200lbs more and that was with no water, empty holding tanks, no Camp Chef stove/BBQ and other things left behind.
We don't pack a lot, when camping close to home. So the 2205S fictional dry tongue weight of 530lbs could easily be 730-750lbs.
This is why Payload Capacity is so important when towing a TT or 5th wheel and towing capacity is almost useless.
