2021 rockwood 2509s bunkbeds

Just wondering about sheets for the bunks in our mini light 2509s. They are oddly shaped and seem larger than normal. Can you buy them or is it better to make yourself. I would prefer to make my self. I guess you are still buying the material so really no difference. Appreciate any thought, suggestions, comments. Thanks.

we bought regular full size sheets for ours and just tucked the extra under the mattresses. Also bought foam pads to put under each mattress, and trimmed off the odd corner. Gives a little more padding and helps hold the sheets in place. The kids don't complain at all.

But if you've got the ability to make your own, go for it.

Thank you. Makes perfect sense. I put to much thought into things sometimes. Simple.

How comfortable is the Murphy mattress? We are supposed to get our 2509S in the 2nd week of March. We are newbies, so we are trying to learn as much as possible.

Hello. Congrats on your camper. We have not picked ours up either. We were told late April early May. So I dont know how comfortable it is. We did order a mattress topper just to be safe. Sorry I wasn't any help.

No worries, we are just trying to learn. We might do the same.

Let me know how the mattress is once you get it, if you have a chance to sleep on it. We are newbies also. So we are learning things too. We ordered the topper from Amazon. They are behind, it said ours will be delivered April 10th. So check around if you plan on getting one.

We have a 2021 Vibe 21BH which is a very similar floorplan to your coach except the bathroom and bunks are flipped. We have a 4 1/2 year old grandson who has camped with us and for him we just got a 'themed' (Paw Patrol) sleeping bag for his bunk and he loves it. So no sheets.

But I think we'd do what TJ Midwest suggested with using full sized sheets tucked under.

The sleeping bags are a very good idea. That is so awesome that you take your grandson with you. Thanks for the reply. We looked at the Vibe, very nice rig.

We downsized (big time) from a 35' Class A DP to the 25'11" Vibe and knew we wanted to take are grandson with us so that is why we looked at Bunk House floorplans. On trips with just me and DW the bunk area offers a lot of storage for us. Due to COVID our trips have been limited, only two last year and one of those was me and my grandson for a long weekend .

You will enjoy your 2509s.

Safe Travels.

The mattress is pretty bad. We got a tempurpedic mattress topper from Costco and it made a huge difference. Definitely suggest the topper. Just have fun yanking it out after you close the bed.

We just picked up our new 2509S last week. The mattress is a much denser and higher quality foam than many TTS have. We normally sleep on a 10” memory foam mattress. We could obviously tell a difference, but we were pretty comfortable on it. I have a 3” memory foam topper ordered for it and I think with that installed we’ll be very satisfied with it.

We bought a 3” topper for our mattress, and it’s better the the mattress alone. My wife isn’t a huge fan but I think it’s ok

We’ve only used the heated mattress a few times in the fall when it gets colder. You can still feel the heat through the topper, and it is a nice feature.

It was designed by Torquemada.

We replaced ours with an 8" Zinus from Amazon. We tried a topper first but were not satisfied. We also tried a 10" Zinus but it interfered with the Murphy mechanism by snagging on the headboard. The difference between the 8" and the 10" is 1/2" on the top layer and 1.5" on the base. Having slept on both, I can tell you it's imperceptible.

I salvaged the heating element from the original mattress, with hopes of incorporating it into a regular mattress pad. If I fail, we'll just buy a heated mattress pad.
