2022 2205s and a 2021 Expedition Max
We ordered a 2022 2205S with 12v fridge and 2 solar panels. All the extras except the upgraded off-road tires or electric jack. We have a 2021 Expedition Max XLT FX4 with the heavy duty tow package. 9,000 lb Max tow with a 1850 Max payload. We will be looking at my wife and myself along with two heeler dogs. I believe this setup will be fine we have the equalizer four-way weight distribution system. Any thoughts that are constructive? Am I right to think that we would be fine? We live in Oregon and mostly will be traveling to state parks throughout Oregon & Washington.

Those numbers are for a basic Expy. You need to post the payload number from the driver's door yellow Tires and Loading sticker. It'll say "Occupants and cargo should not exceed xxxxlbs". And the hitch receiver will have a maximum tongue weight amount.

No, those numbers are for my Expedition. My Max XLT 4x4 FX4 with heavy duty tow package and a 3.73 rear has a Max tow of 9000lbs and a Max tongue of 900. The door read Max load 1803lbs.

2020 Expy with the tow package
I pull a 2022 2511s. I have a heavy duty hitch and weight distribution bars. I have the max tow package.
The 2511s is a bit lighter - at 5700lb dry. I don't pull with water in the tanks. I have two batteries and two full size propane tanks on the tongue. I haven't weighed the tongue.
That said, the Expedition pulls it with zero problems. No sway, no issues on hills of Pennsylvania (while not the rockies, they can be windy and steep). Easy on the highway. I can move out pretty quickly when needed thanks to the twin turbos. I get between 8-12 pulling, dependent upon the hills, which clobber mileage. I get a bit higher with high test fuel.
Overall, I'm very please, and frankly it could easily do the same with another 1,000lb. The Expedition is rated at 10,000 (max is a bit less). For mine, I would not go over 7,000lb.

Your payload is the same as mine. You should be absolutely fine. Your trailer should way about the same as my 2205.

I just looked it up on the Ford build site. Best tow rating is the short wheelbase 2wd at 9300.

Just picked up our 2205s with our 2021 Expedition Max XLT FX4. I have the Sumo bump stops and the Hellwig sway bar. Felt like we were swaying a lot. I am using the Equalizer 4 point sway. Do you turn off the trailer sway? What do you set your gain and brake level light, medium, strong?

Do you have P tires on the Expy?
If so, changing to LT tires should help.
Knowing it's a SUV, it probably has P tires so it can have the cushier non-towing ride.
