I think the cabinet lights are one of the best mods you can do. They are so dark in there you can't see what you have, makes a huge difference.

I had the stuff to do mine but decided to do the front storage with wireless remote instead. Both sides and across the panel under the jack knife. Click image for larger version

Made a mount for a Rotopax 2 gallon gas container, its lockable. A little "just incase " gas or if we ever have to use the generator.

Want to add a shelf under TV soundbar

There's just not enough counter space in our 2104s so I'm looking to install a small shelf under the soundbar that's just below the TV. It would be used only when the unit is stationary and only to put small items getting them off the counter. Any ideas?

I pretty much ruined my batteries by accidentally deep discharging them a couple times so I replaced them with a pair of golf cart 6v batteries. Added a battery monitor , not a Victron but a cheap Amazon one that works almost the same. Also added a rear view camera, did wired version for two reasons, 1 no drop outs 2 no wifi beaming me in the face.

What about something like this and figure out a way to mount to the cabinet the TV is in? I though these looked cool but didn't know the dimensions of the area you were talking about. You could also make something out of wood to do it.

Did this little mod so it would be easy to exchange a tank on a trip. Not easy to find a place that will fill sometimes. Plus wanted a little less tongue weight.

Used the new rear view camera on our trip to Bryce. Mounted the screen to the rear view mirror with velcro. Why did I wait so long to get one of these!? Very much like having a rear view mirror.

Finally broke down and got some Goodyear Endurance tires on it. We've put a fair amount of miles on the Castle rocks, been to Utah twice, many trips to the coast and mountains. Felt we pushed our luck enough.

Last trip to Utah we planned to be plugged in but ended up dry camping a few days and ran the new batteries down to 58%. Thought they would recharge on the way back , but after driving all day they were only up about 3%. So added a Renogy 20 amp DC to DC charger, hoping this will be better on the next long trip.

I've got the 40A unit from them. Works great. Charges easily between stops.

How have you wired it to turn on? I tied into a marker light since I always manually turn my lights on to get power to the rear camera.

Help with dimmer wiriing

It took a little head scratching to figure out the wiring, if you follow the wires you will find one is ground, usually attached to a bunch of other grounds, the other is hot. You can check ground back to the fuse panel if you take the cover off.

I bought the $30 dimmer for the lights over the couch/bed. I pulled the switch out that controls these lights. There are two wires on one terminal which are hot and one wire on the other, which must go to the lights. I removed the switch and installed the dimmer in the circuit, observing polarity. The lights dim but don't adjust. I did not attach the ground wire since there was no ground in the circuit. Do I need to find a ground for this wire?

It's been a while since I did this but one should be ground . The hot goes through the switch. You may have to get out the multimeter to trace stuff. Sorry, if I had just done it I would be more help.

I did check with my multimeter. I’ll attach the ground and see what happens. Thanks.

Battery charged up much faster with the new DC charger, up from 76% to 98% in 3 hours drive. We drove all day before this and it only came up about 4 % so it's a big change. Also really loving the rear view camera screen mounted on the mirror, works just like the rear view mirror.

Figured it out and got the dimmer installed, replacing the switch with it. Interestingly, even though I used the expensive dimmer ($30) I get the flickering when I turn it all the way. Works fine if I don't crank it all the way up.

I have not had any flickering with any of my dimmers.

As the murphy bed setup allows the area between the front storage area and the camper interior to be open, I insulated the floor of the storage area.
I cut up a styrofoam sheet in pieces to fit the floor of the storage area and then covered it with peel and stick carpet squares. The idea was to keep the cold (hot) air from intruding on the head of the bed. Screwball idea? I don't know but don't think it hurts anything. And yes, I do stuff pillows between the wall and murphy bed/couch to isolated the cabin interior from the storage areas.
