2205s Fireplace Remote
Anyone out there have a 2205s, and did your fireplace come with a remote control?
Our dealer at pdi said there was no remote for the fireplace, said some models have them some dont...
Our tv's remote (looks like a universal remote) has "fireplace" printed in red over the tv button but it does not do anything...
On the fireplace display, there is a black square on the top right portion of the screen that does not display anything but I can see the different display icons in it that would light up if it was powered, ours does not light up.
Only way ours operates is with the buttons built into fireplce.
Manual says it is a "Covenant" brand, but does not say what model number...
Thanks for any input!

It may help if you posted a pic of it. Someone with the same model may be able to tell you if it is supposed to have a remote.
It may also help if you pulled it out and got the model number off it.

I’ve got a 2205S and didn’t get a remote either. And I have played with the TV remote without success. Love the fireplace and theater seating however.

Boy, those seats are nice!
I gotta find out more about that fireplace, there is a little spot on that screen that shows heat level, don't know if the model it is can get it to work, or even if a remote would work it...
Got plenty of time to play with it sittin out in the driveway...

I’ve played with it a bit, and the furthest button to the left allows you to adjust the thermostat so it’s not going full blast heat all the time. I set mine to a degree or two higher than the furnace to save on propane (I replaced the thermostat with a digital one - GREAT upgrade!
I think the vertical bars you mentioned is the dimmer for the “flames” and there’s a third button to add/remove blue lights.
It’d be really nice if we could figure out the remote thing.

My 2512 has the fireplace.... but no remote. Have to push the buttons on the fireplace unit itself. Tv remote is confusing as it does have a "fireplace" button... but it does nothing.

Sounds like the same controls as the fireplace on the Rockwood 5th wheel I just got. Do you have a display to show the temp setting? I can’t find a display on mine. The temp button beeps, but I’m not sure what it’s set to. Also no remote

Is there still a way to set the temp without the remote or is it just on off? Mine has a temp button that beeps, but nowhere indicating a set point.

As I recall, the first time you hit it the display will show what temp it thinks it is. Then subsequent hits will change the temp.

Possibly a different model? The original one I had was the WD914-26L. The display is the small black square in the upper right area of the simulated fire box. Normally it doesn’t display anything except when making changes to the settings.
I had to replace this unit and was sent a WD914-26LT; difference was where the buttons are.

wel other then being unable to find the display to tell what temp I am set to the unit works really well. I cycled through the temp until the heat turned off. The. Kept cycling through until it just turned on again. Now I think I am set at 68 (that’s what the wall thermostat says it is in here) and it is cycling on and off. Just wish I could find a display of my set temp. Also is there a way to stop the beeping of the buttons

This looks identical to the one in our 2608BS. Fireplace box and remote.

I can kind of make out that there is a darker area in my top corner where you show a display. It must be broke on mine.
When you power the unit on what is its temp setting? Is it the same every time, or is it what you last had it at? Also what increments does the temp button move the setting at? 1 degree? 2 degrees? Would someone have time to make a video of the temp display for me, from power up, cycling through the temp settings so I can learn what mine is at without using a display. (I will count the button pushes). That can be my short term fix and long term I need to fix the display

The last temp set should be the one it comes up to. The increment is 1 degree at a time. You should note that if it was heating and then gets to temp the fan will continue to run to cool down the unit. Once cool enough the fan will shut off. I’ve run mine with it’s heat off but with the fake flames on. Makes for nice mood lighting.

Fixed it! Thanks everyone for setting me I. The right direction of where to look. The temp display was just hanging by the wires and facing backwards. You could tell by the tabs on the mounting bracket that it had never even been hung in the proper place.
