Wandermore, great ideas.... I can look up a regular dimmer switch but how did you get the dimmer on the light over the theatre seats?

18LT,
I spent the day trying to figure out the front end wiring for the batteries. Last month you said you were planning on pulling your batteries into the passthrough. Did you do that yet?
I see that I would be bypassing the battery switch and the breaker, but I can build that into a system for inside the passt hrough. II am thinking to just disconnect the outside battery and wire directly into the inverter.. WITH the correct switch and breakers... not sure if I would be bypassing anything else important..
Without wiring diagrams, I would have to tear everything apart to figure it out... I don't want to go that far.
your thoughts?

I used a small 4 wire dimmer I picked up on Amazon. It’s a drop in replacement for the original push on/off switch but it is a rotate to dim and turn off. It does produce a very slight hum but barely detectable. The store name is Aloveco. I’ll try to post a link for it tomorrow.

Picked up an inverter friendly 9” fan at WalMart. Integrated fuse in plug, 3 speed, plastic housing. Listed at 45 watts. Great for keeping the air moving in the coach.
Test Results:
Low speed = 29.8 watts
Med speed = 36.7 watts
High speed = 42.5 watts

Refrigerator Monitor
Installed a refrigerator monitor that keeps track of present, high and low temp in both freezer and refrigerator.
1. Refrigerator set to 3 and freezer set to coldest.
2. Refrigerator set to 4 and freezer set to coldest.

Yes, my lithium batteries are in the pass through compartment. The two lithium parallel-connected batteries are connected to the inverter lugs, along with a 100-amp circuit breaker. I also have an 8awg ground wire attached to the frame (which duplicates the 8awg wire on the front negative battery post-to-frame) with a 40-amp circuit breaker. It looks like the factory uses the frame as the negative side of everything except the inverter. At least on my trailer.
The factory battery cables are intact except I installed a battery shutoff switch on the negative side to isolate the tongue mounted wet cell battery. This allows me to use either of the two battery systems, the lithiums in the pass through or the tongue mounted wet cell. The two systems are never interconnected (as long as I follow my own battery switch/breaker checklist). There wouldn't be a giant mushroom cloud over my camper if they were accidentally interconnected for a short time though.
It's not ideal and it's not a permanent setup. I will modify it as soon as the weather is warm enough to keep my arthritic hands from making me cry.
Send me a private message and I can reply with more details. The tongue wiring isn't terribly difficult to figure out, but Forest River could have done us all a big favor by providing a schematic of the 12-volt side.

WanderMore, I like the digital thermometers. I think I'll order one of those.
My refrigerator tests were more crude, relying on a bulb thermometer. My fridge definitely performs better with stuff in it; on setting number 2 and with four one-gallon water containers and a 24-bottle case of water, my bulb thermometer read 34 degrees. The freezer made ice and read 10 degrees.
I'm not fond of the wind-resistant door, nor am I a fan of the screen door rubber band closer. The steps were nice until I had to clean and dry them when we broke camp in the rain. No leaks in the trailer and the rain on the rubber roof is really quiet, compared to an aluminum or steel roof.
Lithium batteries performed well and the two-panel solar charge system kept pace with the 12-volt demands, even on an overcast day; fridge, lights, furnace, water pump and just for fun one night, the inverter and USB charge ports. Makes me want to fill the roof with HQST solar panels. Ok, just two more and an mppt controller.
Pbuck00, have fun on your first outing. Hope yours goes as well as mine did. Be safe!

I considered USB powered, as well as rechargeable & battery (D-cell) operated. I figured since I have the inverter and will be changing to LiFePO4 batteries then why not use the inverter.
Since my temporary registration ran out and I can’t get my permanent until Monday I’m stuck doing work around to property. Decided to mow a section on the east(ish) end. 1st mow of the season. May have to go back and sweep it or at least make another mulching pass.

Nice to see a full lake/river behind your property there... Lakes around me are at their lowest levels at this time of year in more than a decade.

Actually that is in the middle of our property. We have just over 52 acres including that 17 acre “wet spot”.

Our house is just over half way down on the left. My work shop (where I park the camper) is further down on the left and closer to the dam area. Very peaceful except when the nearby cows get to mooing.

Oh my gosh! What a great place! Cows mooing would be a welcome sound compared to the motorcycles and obnoxious cars we heard during our two day camping outing. Some people's kids,,,,,

I did the same, but get a wicked buzzing while dimmed. Are you experiencing the same? If not, what dimmer did you use?

Do you have a link for this switch?
Thanks!

I do get a slight buzzing when dimmed. To me it’s not too bad but I have tinnitus - too many explosions in the Middle East.
Here are the links:
American Technology Components 12 Volt DC Dimmer Switch for LED, Halogen, Incandescent - RV, Auto, Truck, Marine, and Strip Lighting (Slider, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079TJTP1W...2DQVSV24DJ45BR

The bathroom dimmer doesn’t buzz.

While using the app to actuate the slideout on our 2205S while watching from outside, I noticed a lot of movement in the brackets attaching the slide mechanism to the slideout. After looking at everything closer I discovered that the stop can on the actuator was never adjusted properly, causing overstress of the brackets and the 3/8" carriage bolts securing the brackets to the slide floor.
The stop can is supposed to contact the frame upon retraction of the actuator (and the slide), with the actuator's clutch protecting the slide and the mechanism. In our case, the slide brackets and carriage bolts were being over stressed, with one of the bolts starting to pull through the slide floor.
I encourage everyone to run the slide out and check the four 3/8" carriage bolts that secure the slide to the brackets, and to verify that the stop can is properly adjusted when the slide is in.
