2509s double bunks weight limit

Hi folks. I'm hoping someone can tell me the official weight rating (from FR) for the double bunks in the 2509s. I've been searching but have only seen guesses and guestimates on the discussions I have read thus far and we didn't see a sticker anywhere when we poked around one at the dealership. And the dealer didn't know for sure.

Whatever it is, it's probably 10# less than whatever you want to put there!

Ours is still in storage, so I can’t check for sure, but I believe the top bunk is 300 and the bottom 350 lbs. The bottom bunk sits halfway on the aluminum frame of the outside kitchen, so it’s pretty strong. Sorry that’s not the “official “ information you’re looking for, best I can do right now.

Thanks, I got an email back from Forest River, 300lbs. I was hoping for something closer to the 600lbs in the Jaycos in case two people need to double up, but 300lbs is better than some numbers I was told.

They are fine for 1 adult (I’ve slept in the lower one a couple times) but 2 would be stretching it. Two little kids could easily share one..

I forget the dinette is also a bed. And that lower bunk could probably be reinforced like you say to make it hold more.

My wife and I aren't exactly small, but not anywhere near 600lbs but I can speak from experience that I would strongly take Jayco's rating with a very big grain of salt.

I wondered about that too. I imagine there is only so much these camper walls can support and I'd hoped those with bunks upwards of 600 had figured out some kind of sturdy support system for them. If we can't trust Jayco to be rated correctly, what about the Rockwood? I haven't seen posts here about bunks failing but I haven't exactly looked either. I don't worry about my younger child but my older is already a larger teen who tosses about in his sleep.

I'm not worried about them. With a 2 and 4 year old, we're only using the bottom one for bed space right now. The top is a great place to stash clothes and other essentials when not in use.
