2509s Toilet odor

We camped this past weekend, and for once had full hookups so i was able to get a good dump and flush. Black tank was reading empty, it's a good day. Got home and was cleaning the camper as i always do. Noticed a strong urine smell in the bathroom. I moped the floor and cleaned/wiped down the toilet. This is a 2020 2509S we purchased new last July. Did some searching and i see there is a recall on the Domestic toilets. I'm not sure what model i have, need to look for the tag on it. I never received any paper work saying there was a recall. Has anyone replaced it them selves without taking to the dealer?

Where did you locate a recall on Dometic toilets? And what models? Also, I replaced a toilet and it took 15 minutes and I took my time. Easy to do!

So last night when i got home, checked out my model number of the toilet. Model 300 Dometic. Called my dealer this morning, told him of my problem, he knew right away what it was. Said he would look up my vin and order a new toilet, call me when it was in to swap it out. Easy peasy! He said he has replaced 5 or 6 this year.

Make sure your dealer is getting you a 310 and not another 300.

It's not a recall. Dometic is treating it as a warranty issue instead. If your unit is less than 3 years old they will replace it, if not you are SOL, and they pretty much say see ya.
The model 300 has a known issue; they know it, and continue selling it. They claim not all end up with the problem. They also say since it's not a safety issue a recall isn't needed.
I'd say exposure to Biohazardous material counts as a safety issue, but they disagree.

Sticker is on the side under the foot flush lever. Take a pic with your cellphone. Easier than trying to crawl under and write down the three long numbers needed when you call.

X2! Porcelain is the way to go.

I had the same smell. Called Dometic and they sent me a new one within a week. Replaced in about 20 minutes.

You're lucky I guess. My 300 lasted until just after the warranty period. Tried to get a replacement anyways because of a known defect. No dice, so just bought a porcelain model. Easy swap.
