2706ws TV

what are you currently towing your 2706ws with. we currently tow our 23ikss roo with a 2018 Ram bighorn with 5.7l, we are thinking about going to 2706ws but wondering if i would need to up grade the truck as well. I do know my tow rating is 10300, but I know that really does not matter as its all about payload. are you able to tow this with this size half ton or am I looking at getting a 2500?

What is the payload of your truck?

My 2806 is a similar size and weight and we went with a 2500 without question. After towing ours 4500+ miles I would not want to pull it with a 1/2 ton.

The 2706WS will be 8k+ when loaded with a hitch weight of 1000 pounds and it's nearly 33 feet long!!!

They can raise the tow limits of 1/2 tons all they want to, but I'd go with a 2500. The difference is night and day.

Just my opinion and experience. Good luck.

Current Payload is 1680lbs. I do see the need to get the 2500. Guess I should have rephrased the question on whether or not in the short term my truck could handle it. We live in AZ so not very many hills. Granted we would not be in the market until end of season. Best deals around that time. We had moved from our Rockwood HW276 to the Roo 23 ikss due to the HW becoming more challenging after my BKA. Granted we love the Hybrid, but it has started to become challenging as well. I normally setup camp while the DW manages the kids ages 2&4. Originally we went with the Hybrid because of the space and I didnt want to tow a 32ft TT, but yet here we are. The thought of pulling into camp with beds already made and not having to pull off my prosthetic after putting mattress pads on the bed ends to put on sheets is very appealing.

with that payload and weight of camper I would tow all day but that's me. all about you and your use. I would think long and hard before getting a 3/4 ton truck if its your daily driver. I would love the extra gas milage and ride back from my 1/2 ton vs my 3/4 that rides like a dump truck and eats gas.

My 2015 Chevy 2500HD rides like a limo...

Not sure why everyone says they have a rough ride.

I'm guessing they haven't ridden in the newer HD trucks!

Mine as well.

Never understand the argument either.
