2706WS vs. 2702WS

Hi, pretty new to Travel Trailers, so apologies if these are some basic questions.

The layout of the 2706WS in my opinion flows a bit better then the 2702WS for my needs (though I love that external access to the bathroom). The 2702WS looks like it comes with better mattresses on the bunks however. Does anyone know if it would be easy to get the 2702WS bunk mattresses on the 2706WS? It's a minor difference, but the beds are going to get a lot of use and a good mattress is important for what I need.

Would there be a towing difference between the two choices? The 2706WS is slightly heavier it seems, but I could be missing something.

Thanks ahead

In terms of the bunk mattress, I would say no. I have the 2706WS, and the bunk mattresses have the corner cut out to allow access to the bathroom, you can see that in the layout image below. Therefore, the 2702WS mattresses would hang over the edge and they would block the bathroom door. And I doubt you could cut the 2702WS mattresses to fit.

Aside from this, however, I love my 2706WS. I especially like the outdoor kitchen, and a master bed that I can walk in front of.

Blessings,
Andrew

Thanks for the reply Andrew.

Can you tell me about the mattresses in the 2706WS? What are they made of? Is it foam?

Cheers

I don't believe there's any difference between the bunk mattresses on the 2702 vs. the 2706, other than they're mirror images of each other. They are the same size. Now, the queen mattresses are different. The 2702 has a full size queen, while the 2706 has the short RV queen. However, the 2706 has lots of walk around room in th bedroom. You could easily change out the mattress to a full size one and still have room at the foot.

I debated between these two models for months before deciding on the 2702. I actually thought it felt a little roomier, ever so slightly, with how the couch and dinette sit in the 2702. But I did think the wide door on 2706 makes the whole thing brighter.

Ultimately, the 2702 felt like it had more storage and the bunks feel roomier too. Because you don't have the outdoor kitchen under them you have more height in both and an extra window in them too.

We seriously could have gone either way. I think if the outdoor kitchen had a gas cooker and/or a sink that would have swayed me, but that cooker will only work on electric or generator and I didn't want that commitment. So we're pretty stoked with our 2702 and like the direct access to bathroom more than I thought I would, but would have been happy with either.

I think there is a little difference in mattress because the bottom bunk mattress in the 2706 is meant to fold in the middle. So I think that is a bit different material or maybe it is just two pieces.

Nope, the bottom mattress is not 2 pieces - it's the same as the top mattress. I'll bet that all the Ultralite (and maybe all Rockwood) bunk mattresses are exactly the same.

The mattresses are foam, and about 4 inches thick. The bottom one has a crease where it can fold up for additional storage.

I stand corrected - my bottom bunk mattress does have a crease in it. I had so much stuff piled on it, I didn't notice.
