8280 lawn mower damage!

Hi all, well this is pretty frustrating. I was out back hooking up one of our other trailers and I noticed I big dent on the bottom of our 2880 (the aluminum bottom skirting). It looks like the guys hired to do the lawn were mowing next to it and the mower slid or he just ran it into the fiver. And that's the part that angers me the most, they never said a word. I haven't spoke with them yet but I'm thinking what to do? It's purely aesthetic but is also a big blemish on an otherwise perfect camper. I'll probably call the insurance tomorrow and see if I can file a claim. I'm sure that the whole panel will need replacing so I'm wondering if I have to pay out of pocket does anyone have any idea what it will cost to get fixed?

I would snap pictures and email them to your dealership for a quote. I would also contact the lawn guys and expect them to cover it. Are they insured? I feel your pain though as my fiver is at the shop getting repairs to the right rear trim from where the dealership damaged it on a previous time in for repairs. We noticed the damage as soon as we got home. I immediately called the dealership and got a machine as they had already closed for the day. I left a message on the service managers machine and immediately emailed them pictures. We resolved it amicably. They agreed to do all necessary repairs on their dime (as they should). We had an appointment scheduled within 2 weeks for the fix. With the pictures they were able to pre-order the necessary parts for repairing it. they even hauled it the hour to the shop for the repairs since my truck is currently sidelined at the chevy dealership with an unrelated issue.

Good idea about the pictures. I'm not holding my breath for the lawn guys to take care of it, I figure if they couldn't fess up to start with I doubt they will now. Funny thing is that I thought that those pieces were plastic all this time so I figured it would just pop out. If you don't mind me asking what was the quote for yours?

No quote for us. The dealership damaged it and they are taking care of it. I won't even see a bill. I'm lucky to have an awesome dealership to work with.

We had the lawn guy using a whipper snipper that sent a rock through the back window of our RV. There is no way I was going through my insurance, paying the deductible and then having a claim on my record. The resort paid for a new window and deducted the amount from what they paid the lawn guy. Have them pay.

Unfortunately I ran my own mower into my own 8280SS.

The dent stays.

I make sure my rider stays behind the fence, the 21 incher is not tall enough to hurt the lite so it gets front yard duty.

I talked to the lawn service people today and they are going to take a look at it when they come on Thursday to cut the grass and see if it looks like something one of their mowers could have done.
