8285ws TV antenna reception

I’m having a problem getting the TV to work off the antenna, otherwise it works fine. I have a 2011 Rockwood 8285ws and can’t get the TV to work off the antenna. I was in an area on the weekend where there should have been a strong signal. I turned the TV on and changed the input to antenna. Do I need the stereo on also and if so what input should it be set to? Anything else I can check?
I thought I would ask here before contacting the dealer.
Thanks

1st of all, make sure the booster button is pushed in, and the little green light is on beside that.

Since the Winegard antennae is directional, you may have to do several channel searches in different directions with the antennae. I do a search every 120°, and that seems to work well.

Booster was on and I did try turning the antenna. No luck. My antenna cable did hook on a tree at home before we left but I can't see any problems with the connection on the roof.

Someone else will need to help you with the stereo part of the equation....totally unfamiliar with that.

Did you do an "search" at each of the antennae directions ??

If that doesn't work, and the stereo is set up correctly, you may need to check out the connections at the antennae and roof, since you previously hooked a branch.

Were you able to tune and watch TV before you hooked the branch?
Have you changed the setup in any way?
Coax cable breaks are not always obvious.
Perhaps the computer board in the antenna amp (white box on the roof antenna) cracked.

It did work before. The branch just hooked the coax cable and pulled it a little. Can't see any damage. This was our second outing so we're new to this. I'll try calling the dealer maybe I'm just missing something in the setup.
Thanks

If it worked before you snagged the branch, my money is on unseen damage.

Yes. It may be. It looks O.K. but I may be damaged inside the coax. It's in storage now so it will have to wait until my next outing.
Thanks

Just spoke to the dealer. He said likely the cable is damaged where it goes into the roof. He said there is a connection there and it likely pulled apart. I'll check it when I pick it up the end of next week.
