Just purchased a Rockwood 8290BS 5th Wheel in May 2019 and have had alot of problems, mostly with the awnings over the slides, and 1 slide itself all repaired but did not start getting into problems until I rolled it off the lot and started camping. Couple of items I would recommend double checking
1. rivets and screws around your bottom of the RV. We found a hole in the fiberglass caused by a rivet, and several screws not attached correctly for the fenders.
2. Fridge was misaligned and freezer door would not close with out gently moving it ..
3. galley tank would not register on the gauge board, dealer kept telling me its fine, however after further investigation it was not wired correctly from the manufacturer
4. Understand how to winterize it.. I later found out that the Hot water heater had manual bypass values, under stand where that is at the dealer.
5. Awning covers over slides, if you have them make sure they are correct length. One of the awning covers was ever so close the the outside framing, it failed and started catching on the frame causing damage, Rockwood covered it under warranty but the replacement awning the new awning appeared longer so maybe the wrong one was put on during manufacturing.
6. have Dealer run the heat and understand where heat is coming out and why. I started running then heat in October for first time and it comes out the AC unit on electric heat, and from the floor on gas heat. AND when I run the GAS heat I get some residual smoky air in the unit.. still have to figure that one out.
hope this helps
