Talking 8306SS on the way!

Wanted to say thanks to all the people here that post such wonderful information. It helps make the decision easier.

With that said I got a call from my dealer yesterday and she has the VIN number for our trailer and it should come off the line on August 10th!!! I won't be able to pick it up till later in August but will post pictures when I get it. It is a 2010 8306SS with Saddle interior and the new Tuscan cabinets.

We can't wait!!!

Its here!

Just got an e-mail from my dealer and the trailer arrived today! Since I am out of the country right now, she was sweet enough to send me some pics and I wanted to share with all of you!

I can't wait to go see it (and pick it up)!!! August 29th!

That is sweet.

I see that Forest River now cuts the venetian blinds around the window knob over the kitchen sink.......I had to do that myself on mine.

Hi. I really like the big windows on your slideout...we have this same model except its a 2009. I do have a question, what is that electronic device I circled in your picture? We do not have that...we have a little door there..

HayesB2,

My wife has seen it in person, I have not. According to her that is the control panel for the trailer. I think it was near the bathroom in a little box enclosure on earlier models. It should be the switches for the water heater and such.

I will know more in a few days.

Interesting...if you get a chance could you take a closer picture of it? It looks like a different control panel than my 09 model - which indeed has the panel located behind a small door next to the bathroom...

On another note, does your 32" TV have a flat wall mount or a fully adjustable mount? My 32" Toshiba is on a flat wall mount and very hard to see when sitting on the couch. I just recently bought a fully adjustable wall mount and am going to attempt to replace the factory mount. I just need to figure out how to secure the mount when traveling so it will not move around...

Nice to see those Amish carpenters finally centering doors so cabinets look symetrical.

Could you post what the bunk room looks like? We are in Alaska and having a hard time finding full pictures of it on the internet. Where is the best price for the Rockwood? What kind of door closes off the bunk room?
Thanks, Karen

Hi Karen,

Not very much detail, but I found a few photos of the bunk room at the links below.

Hello, We just bought our 8306SS this month. There is a pocket door that seperates both bedrooms. The floorplan indicates an accordian dvidier for the rear bunkroom, so we were very pleased it was a pcoket door.

Sorry for taking so long to get back on this thread! I have taken a trip home (from Iraq), towed the new trailer to Disney (about 600 miles each way) and just got back to Iraq!

As has been mentioned, it is a pocket door for the bunk room. VERY nice...my daughter liked that a LOT. The bunk room does not have a lot of floor space but it is plenty to move around, get dressed, etc. There is also a pretty decent amount of storage in there with 4 drawers and a hanging wardrobe...as well as three overhead cabinets and a couple of shallow cabinet spaces under the bunk area.

The control panel (which I did not get a good picture of, sorry) has all the controls for water pump, water heater (gas), tank heaters, outside lights, awning, both slides, etc.

It also has a switch for one of the ceiling internal lights which is nice when you come back in the dark.

I have now been through it pretty well and camped in it for about 7 days...so any questions and I will try to answer them!

One other thing that I wanted to mention...the power awning has the rain dump / tilt adjustment on BOTH sides. It can be tilted either way and locked there OR just let it dump by itself. I did test that since it was raining in FL while we were there and the auto dump worked great. I did NOT leave it up while we were away from the trailer since I was concerned about wind.
