8312ss propane quick disconnect.

We just ordered a new Rockwood 8312ss I didn't order the gas grill option because the grill didn't seem to be well built, and I don't care for the way they hang them on the side of the unit. Can anyone tell me if there will be a quick disconnect on the trailer or does it require the gas grill option when ordering. Thanks.

We did not take the grill option on our 2017 Roo and have the QD and also the rail.

All it takes is a call from your dealer to the rep to confirm you're getting the grill prep although I believe you are.

I asked this same question when I ordered mine. I was told the quick disconnect would be there regardless. I wanted the connection but not the crappy grill.

you will get two quick connects. One at the outdoor kitchen and one at the rail where the grill would hang.

You need to understand that the QD on the side will be low pressure LP. Meaning it is after the regulators. The crappy grills do not have a regulator and are designed for low pressure. If you purchase a grill that uses the green 1lb bottles then that grill uses high pressure LP and has its own regulator. SOME can be modified (remove regulator).

Thanks, I have been researching this subject and seen some older post in regards to the regulator issue. I have purchased a Weber Q1200 and plan on doing the conversion.

Cheap Grill

You're right, the grill that comes with it is junk. I carry an extra propane bottle anyway, because I don't like to be tied to my trailer to cook.

We have a 2015 8312ss and the grill did ok for the three of us. I didn't hang it off the side, I think that might start delamination if it keeps pulling in one spot( my theory). Now we are finding friends to camping with in upgrading to a bigger grill( bass pro event grill). Anyway I plan on buying a QD hose assembly and tapping into the front QD connection. As long as I pull the regulator off the grill I should alright correct?

I have a Weber Q1200 grill which I was planning to hook to my new 831RESS. Are you guys saying I have to remove the regulator on the grill for it to work properly? If so, is there anything more to it than just wrenching it off?

There are some youtube videos on this subject. Looks like you remove the regulator from the stove and replace it with a male QD fitting. Be sure to leak test fittings before using.

That is the correct. Should be there regardless.

Many of those type grills have the regulator with the flame control (black dial), built into the regulator. If this is your case then you will have no flame control on the grill. You will get the full low pressure propane to your burners-HOT. If your grill has separate flame dials then you're good to go.
