A general Thank You to all members

After a year of searching and the countless hours of research and headaches, the wife and I finally pulled the trigger. We bought a 2021 Rockwood 8291RK this last Saturday.
Thank You to the members of this forum as it was invaluable in my quest for knowledge around the brand.
Looking forward to our shakedown camping trip this weekend at a local KOA.

Stay Safe everyone and I'll be a regular poster/reader here.

Thanks Again!

Congratulations on your purchase.

I checked the floor plan on the 8291RK and it looks awesome.

Hope you enjoy your rig as much as we have been enjoying ours.

Congrats on your new Rockwood Signature 8291RK and welcome to the forum. We have the predecessor to your floorplan - the 8290BS.

Congrats on the new unit. How are you liking it? Curious, as we just bought a 2020 8291RK that was on a kind of local dealer's lot. Only went and looked at it out of curiosity and ended up really liking it and so then bought it. So would love to hear your thoughts on yours!

Love the unit so far. Have only done a short 3 night shakedown thus far. Have a quick local 3 night trip coming this weekend. We have found a few things, but all normal BS items due to factory Quality Control and lack of PDI.
1) The Freezer detent that "locks" the freezer door was not installed properly by the factory. I unscrewed the Dometic and pushed it forward and reinserted the detent so the door locked. Definately a PDI, QC issue.
2) The factory didn't caulk one edge of the lower shower door, water gushed out of shower on first use. Dried things and put some clear silicone on the joints. Works fine now.
3) Found a huge leak in the storage, behind the facia and plumbing controls. The hoses were not even hand tight. I went through them all and tightened.

Thats really it. Just annoyance stuff, par for the course considering the industry's shortcomings.
Its a great trailer though, we love the layout and amenities. I dig the rear kitchen, the dinette, and the maxair fans. The Turning Point hitch is a game changer. I have a short bed f250 diesel.

Thanks for the info. Yes we also expect little annoyances like you have experienced. The one we are getting is a 2020 model with a build date of Oct 30/19 so was built before the pandemic - which we think might end up being a good thing. It also had most of the options we wanted in it and dealers we've spoken to have talked about rv supply shortages. So we were leery to factory order a newer one.

We have opted to not pick it up until early May 2021 as it will just sit in storage during our long cold winter and we want the warranty to begin when we are able to use it. You likely don't have that same issue.

Have fun camping and enjoy your new unit!
