A question on my 2608bs

I have a 2608bs and am at a campground that has cable. I lack knowledge on electronics. I have the cable from the campground connected to what I think is the cable connection on the camper. It says cable/satellite. There are two connections, so should I hook it to the left side or the right side? Behind the tv what do I have to change? if anyone can be of help it would be appreciate it.

Connect to the cable port outside and turn off your antenna amplifier on the inside. You will then have to do a new scan on your television through the TV menu system.

It will help others if you posted what the solution was.

I have a 4-year old 2608. The outside wring for the cable and satellite ports were labeled backwards. I am glad you got your issue resolved.

The 6.2 is a powerhouse of an engine and does great, even on steep hills. The truck itself tows the trailer OK, but the lack of weight of the 1/2 ton and the stronger suspension and brakes I would have if had chosen a 3/4 ton is noticeable. If I were buying the truck today, I would go for the 3/4 .

If you are buying a truck for your 2608BS, get a 3/4 ton. If you already have a half ton Silverado 1500, it will most likely pull the 2608BS, but as noted, you will probably experience more sway and more effort pulling.

That said, my 2020 Silverado 1500 pulls my 2608BS adequately. I have the 5.3L and 8-speed trans, not even the max tow package. It can be done. But the 2608BS is at the top end of the 1500's capacity.

Some more input on towing with a half ton. We used to have an F150 with the eco boost engine. Great horsepower and torque. We towed a trailer with the same length and weight of the our current 2608. 4 times after towing it 1000 miles from Oregon to Arizona we had plug/coil/boot failure. The last time I lost my front main seal. The truck did what I asked it to, but lots of heavy towing will tax a half ton beyond its intended purpose. The eco boost is still a V6, the twin turbos give it exceptional power, but my experience is that it will die prematurely if you do lots of long trips. My current setup with the 3/4 ton diesel is the most comfortable towing setup I’ve owned in 30years of RVing.
