Advice on Rockwood 2005 2605 help!

Hello out there!
Thanks in advance..

I'm thinking of buying a Rockwood 2005 m2605.. Dry weight in brochure is 4080.. How can I find out what the actual out of factory weight was without the title. Maybe someone out there has one. I only want to tow 5,000 pds and I really like this model but am afraid I'm cutting it close..

Ask the seller for a pic of the white factory weight sticker.
I'll bet it'll be at least 400lbs heavier than the brochure weight.
My smaller 2007 Rockwood weighed exactly 400lbs over the brochure weight.
I'll say that it'll easily weigh more than 5000lbs loaded for camping.

The sticker bikendan is talking about should look similar to this (click on the pic and it will open larger):

It's located on the left front side of the trailer. The line where the red arrow is at should have the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the trailer. THAT's the number you want to use. Until you can weigh it, assume the tongue weight to be 15% of the GVWR.

(The yellow sticker below the white one has the dry weight, but dry weight is for suckers. The trailer very likely didn't even weigh this when it left the factory and it never will.)

You don't say what you're towing with, but people usually max out on payload before they max out on towing capacity. Payload is your tongue weight plus anything else you put in your tow vehicle except the driver.

There will be a payload sticker on your tow vehicles drivers door frame. Should look like this:

Name:	Payload 2.jpg

Size:	300.2 KB

This one is from my 3/4 ton Silverado, so it's pretty high at 2900 lbs. Most 1/2 tons are around 1500 lbs. Diesels are 400-500 lbs lower than gassers for the same truck.

Rockford, the OP is looking at a 2005 model, which was way before they started the outside yellow sticker.
A 2005 will have a white factory weight sticker on the inside of a cabinet door.

OK; when did the white stickers start? My 2012 had one.

Did you mean yellow, instead of white?

Take it to a scale, and hopefully your vehicle is rated well over the 5k you want to tow or you just started a 10 page long thread for the weight police to comment on.

See my 1st pic in Post #3. The white sticker on top has the GVWR and tire info. The yellow sticker underneath has dry weight and CCC.

I never took a pic of my 2012 Roo 19 stickers, but it had the same 2 stickers.

I'm pretty sure that the 2005 version had no slideout and was 7'6" wide, not 8' wide.
So it should lighter.

If you weighed it hooked to your truck, then I would assume your 5075 lbs is axle weight. So it really weighs more than 5075 lbs, because your tongue is taking 10-15% of the weight.

So I'd guess an actual 5500 - 5800 lbs.

That is probably true...
