Air Conditioners Mouse Proof?

I've got a 2019 Signature 8329SB. Just as everyone else, I'm trying to mouse-proof it as best as possible. Before I go pulling covers off and taking things apart, I was wondering if anyone knows if air conditioners are built and installed to the point that only air can come in and out and not mice? I'm sure this is relevant to any all air conditioners.....probably.

It depends.... If you take the ceiling (inside) unit off sufficiently to see up the "hole" in bright daylight, you'll prob see any major holes that a tiny mouse might fit through. And, trust me, they'll try!! Some indications are that it only takes 1/4" for some of the smallest to fit through. But, yes, the ACs are designed and intended to have the top unit and inside "mechanically" isolated, BUT whether the installation is done with the care that will "guarantee" it is always in question until verified. Of course, keeping the mice out of the roof unit, especially if covered with a "fabric" cover, is nearly impossible (ask how I know ).
