All Windjammer Owners

With nothing else to do but sit around the house and wish I was out camping in my Windjammer, I thought it would be fun to start a thread to see how many other Winjammer owners frequent this forum. I am interested to know which year and model you have and how happy you are with it. Have you had any problems?

We have a 2016 3029W and love everything about it. The only problem we had was with the iRV 66 entertainment system, but that was so efficiently handled and easily replaced, I dont really consider it a problem.

Happy Campers

We purchased a new WJ 3001w in April of 2014 and have pulled it over 10,000 miles so far with right at 100 nights camping since then. We pull with a 2013 1/2 ton GMC extended cab, 5.3, 3.73 gears, stock suspension. I added a K&N cold air system and some performance dual exhausts, so we do very well at any altitude and terrain. We pulled on a 30+ day trip from N. Texas across 11 states including Nevada's Death Valley, Oregon's Crater Lake, Idaho, Wyoming's Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, then back down through Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma with no problems at all. Highest crest with the trailer was 8,300' and we topped in 3rd gear at 50 MPH/4,200 RPM still pulling strong.

Love our WJ and have had only very minor issues with it so far. Mini blinds in kitchen broke, vinyl strip at bottom of shower door split, one of the stabilizers lost a split pin, and that is about it. I have tightened and fixed some other minor things but figure that is normal when you pull your house over rough roads.

We have a 2013 Windjammer 3008W with about 18000 miles towed so far. We love the layout. Took it to Alaska for a 4 month trip in 2014. The only serious issue we had was it left the factory with the wrong axle brackets which made the trailer ride so low that the tires rubbed the fender wells. Forest River replaced the axles and the tires even before their recall for the issue. Other than that only a few minor fixes taken care of under warranty. Its going to go cross country next summer on another long duration trip to visit our daughter in Seattle, stopping to sight see along the way.

Using EazLift Trekker hitch. Been to several of the Texas State Parks camping. Having a Great time. Still new to this camping life style.

We have a 2015 Flagstaff 26VFFKS- Vlite. It is very close to the Windjammer. Same outside body style with the V-nose front. When first bought, we had several problems (nothing real major) but fixed by the dealer which took longer than it should. It pulls very good. I am still trying to learn this TT but just like anything new, it takes a little experience. I need to get it out camping. But it has been at the dealer through the summer and fall. Been out 1 time. This is my 4th rv, so I am not a rookie, nor am I an expert. Have fun.

Nope, it is a Rockwood Windjammer Youroo. Check this link: the dealer thinks it is a Windjammer also.

Very good video. I learned some things that my salesman did not know to tell me.

Yooro - tell me the differences between Rockwood Windjammer and Flagstaff Super V Lite Emerald package except weight depending on model. Insulation, cabinets? maybe? According to the video, my Super V Lite Emerald package has basically everything that is in the video, just arranged differently because of model. Same outside construction and colors, inside and outside. The only difference that I could see in the video is that it was a different model. Mine has the kitchen up front inside the V instead of the coach as the one in the video.

We have a 2008 3001W have put 20000 miles on it. Have gone through 2 power cords so far because of arcing now have to replace both the cord and shore power outlet on the trailer. The other problem is the slide motor on the bedroom slide. Have replaced motor and had slide adjusted motor still will not take slide in or out (keeps blowing fuse). I put the slide in manually using a ratchet wrench (only takes a few minutes).

Hey Bruce
Good idea. I know there is a place on FRF dedicated to v-nose owners, but receives very little activity.
We have a 2014 WJ2809W & love it. A few minor issues handled by dealer very efficiently: we have great dealer.
Feel sorry for all you good folks up north having to shut down your camping for the winter. Living here in the sunshine state, we go at it year round.
Happy camping ya'll & be safe. We'll look you on our travels.

Rockwood WJ/Flagstaff V-Lite, pretty much the same thing aren't they? Maybe some different floor plans, but still the same animal.

2015 Windjammer 3006WK Diamond Pack. First year 8K+ miles and the family absolutely loves our unit. Had a few warranty issues but nothing major accept IRV 66. Dealer installed two times before I decided to contact radio manufacturer directly. They took care of new radio and I installed. Problem resolved! Went ahead and purchased the additional year warranty from F/R just in case though. I have one question for anyone reading this. We want to stick one of those United State maps showing where we've been. Thinking somewhere on the nose cone. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2016 WJ 3006WK, very happy with it so far.

2016 WJ 3006WK so far very happy with it but have only had it for a couple of months. Just found the drawers under the bed don't hold much weight, going to have to check all of them to see if they are made the same way. I put a couple of monitors and a full laptop bag in one of them and the bottom broke out. Pulled it out and can see they are not designed to hold much weight. Going to have to beef them up. All in all still a very happy camper!
